| Post subject: | Turbo Mirage, round 2 (this car looks familiar) |
Many board members know this car, but only a few knew that I was the new owner. I bought my silver Mirage from our very own CaptainTonus about 8 or 9 months ago and quietly kept my mouth shut. I used to own a pretty potent 16g-powered original turbo Colt, but had to part it cause the chassis was beyond saving. I always wanted another. Just before I bought this I had a pretty neat '92 Mirage sedan with all the bells and whistles, but when Tony told me his car was up for sale I dropped that project like a bad habit. I knew this car was rust-free and well taken care of so I had him pull the FS ad until I could come up with the money. I ended up having the car shipping from Cali to MI, where it sat for the remainder of winter tucked away in the garage. Fast forward a few months and I drove it at least once or twice a week all summer through the nice weather. Fast forward a little more and its now tucked away again in my new garage awaiting a little bit of an overhaul and some new goodies. A lot of little things need to be addressed, but for now I'll just throw up some pics that I have taken over my short ownership. Fav camera phone pic of my old Colt. ![]() Fresh off the truck and at the rent's place for the winter. ![]() Happily in the driveway of my old place. ![]() ![]() At a local car meet. 3 hours each way with no hiccups. ![]() Poor driver's door. My silly GF backed into it at 3am cause she neglected to look behind her. ![]() Following my buddy and my old sedan to its new home at his place. He is doing a 16g setup that should be pretty fun. ![]() ![]() The car in its new home for this winter. The garage is a lot more packed now haha. ![]() With my other toy. ![]() A few parts I have lying around. ![]() Current state of the car. ![]() Teaser of the new wheel setup. ![]() ![]() Hopefully I can update fairly regularly, but I go as funds allow. Should be pulling the motor and cleaning the bay before snow falls though! |

The ones on it are 15x7 et 42 and 4x114.3. I'm 5 lugging the car and want something more aggressive. I wanted a lower offset on the 16x8's but ill probably just run a 10 or 15mm spacer. |

Seeing as how I know most of what was in that car, what is the other ride you had pictured. I ride a carbon road bike also. |

It's about time you made one of these posts! I can't express how glad I am that this car went to good hands (even if you are a total ricer), and I'm very eager to see where you go with this project. Big ups! |

My roomie is a lazy photographer. One day he'll take fancy pics and then Tony will smash his camera into the ground in shame. |
