Wasnt watching the CEL ecmlink was throwing, and holed a piston at 140mph......

Hrrmm... what boost did u melt the piston at?? What octane gas do you get over there?

I suggest a Methanol injection or meth/water kit to control the detonation from running pump gas at higher HP levels.

I was using "Mumtaz", which is their higher octane gas...... However I believe mumtaz is a lower octane than our highest octane back home. I was at approx 18 psi when my motor shit the bed. And I am looking @ Meth injection as we speak.

ok, I just checked.... Mumtaz has an octane rating of 95 RON which equates to 90-91 back home

Only one problem... it can't be shipped outside of the US. Good thing they tell you what their "proprietary blend" is. You can mix the stuff yourself, most of us do anyway.

Meth injection scares the crap out of me. I don't like the idea of relying on a separate system for my octane. Sure, there are lots of failsafes built into most meth kits, but it still makes me un-easy. I've seen way too many people melt their motors because they didn't get a proper distribution of meth across all their cylinders, or a pump failed, or a nozzle failed. Unfortunately, it may be your only option over there. Does anyone sell race gas out there?

Yeah Tonus. It's not like a drive the damned thing to work. I take it out at nights, and out to the racetrack.
I'll prolly just keep her drunk and happy on race gas from now on ;)

That's my strategy. No need to play with fire if you don't have to. I've been running the same engine for almost 12 years and it's seen almost 40psi and 100 shot.
