The colts stayin FWD for the the time being and maybe, this is a long stretch might get awd in the distant future. I want to start on the galant badly but it I cant find any awd 2g parts locally! It seems when you dont need the parts they're right there, I had a chance to grab up a wrecked 2g awd last year and turned it down!

Just to let everyone know, I've since given the Galant to my younger brother as he has no transportation at the time. I guess it's my nature to change plans on a whim like this, but i will continue on documenting the build. I will be doin all the work for him and I guess you can say showing him the "ins and outs". I've got tons of parts laying around, and I'm gonna put a 6 bolt w/2g piston and 1g rod combo underneath the 4g64's head along with studs and a MLS gasket of some sort. It's goona be a modest set up running a 14b stock 450's MAFT and safc on the stock Galant GS ecu. Oh and for those of you wanting to see awd swap, he says he still wants to in the future when the funds come available. till the next installment.

At least it will not be sitting around just hanging out. Nothing wrong with a moderate 14b turbo set-up on a 2.4.

CARNAGE!

So you can only imagine what the 4g64 crank looks like. ugh

the bottom of the rod and whats left of the rod cap was wedged in between the crank ,girdle and block!

Didnt even check the head, but obviously it made a little contact. Hopefully my bro can still use the 64's head on his 6 bolt block. If not he'll have to run a 6 bolt head and rewire the Galant to run a 1g CAS.

When I was honeymooning in Orlando last week, I almost bought a 95 Galant with a 2.4L that was supposed to be in awesome condition for $1650. Unfortunately traffic was brutal, and I wasn't the only one intrested.

My Accord is getting really rusty, and it's so damn Honda. :vom:

On average I see about 3-4 Galant GS for sale throughout the year on Autotrader alone. Sadly 3/4 of them are auto's, but no biggie overall. Visually they're hard to tell apart from the LS in stock form. They're have a sunroof, 5-spoke alloys, fog lights, and a spoiler. Easiest way to spot one is if the vin is posted. Engine code (8th digit) is an L instead of the G. Don't trust the trim level the dealer or owner posts. I've found 50% of the time they're wrong. Trust the vin.

Just right now I've found 5 currently for sale, but 2 are wrecks so good for parts like the engine if they're still available. TheGalantCenter.net is a good source and friendly forum just like this one.

The one I looked at was advertised as a four cylinder, but the guy was telling me that it was a 2.5L which is a six, so who the hell knows.

Probably just a typo. The 2.5 V6 was never offered here.

I wonder if that front end is interchangeable with a 2g DSM?

it could be done. but youd prolly have you splice the 2g fender into the galant fender
