I am pretty excited about this car. The car is finally home, and a big thanks to jeremy and kevin for going down to indy with me to pick the car up. I want everyone to know that all of this work on the car was completely by the previous owner, who did an amazing job with the swap . The car started life as a 1.5 liter NA eagle summit. Adam( the previous owner) has been putting this together for well over 5 years and just simply wanted to get into something else. This project, is quite a large one as there are No brakes lines, no fuel set up, No wiring in the entire car, no dash or interior, there is a giant hole in the floor so tunnel work will have to ensue. So in other words, it was the perfect project for me, Something that I build exactly How I want to. On to the pictures that I have stolen from the previous owner, first up he cut the rear strut towers, so that the 1G awd struts would be at the correct angle and height. a picture showing the difference in height and angle a shot of the rear subframe mounts which are pretty beeffy The car is also converted to 5 lug and dsm hub assemblies here is a shot of the rear lower mounts that he fabricated for the rear struts. A picture of the diff and driveshaft In the picture above you can see the big hole in the floor above the carrier bearing mounts. I will have to do some Tin work in that area He also scrapped all the sound deadening out of the vehicle, for a nice clean look. and some random shots of the cross bars that were built to hold the engine up The two bars above have already been removed and are at the powdercoater currently. They will be a nice factory black. My Next thing to tackle will be to reinforce the carrier bearing mounts, and finish the floor. Enjoy. |

Got my cross beams back from the powdercoater and they turned out really nice. I really like this factory black color, its not too glossy thats for sure. On to the pictures all three pieces are above the rear bar and the rear engine bracket Next on the menu will be the tunnel fabrication. stay tuned for more |

Oh I am excited to be back on 4G61T.org , I took a break from colts but once you own these cars, it just becomes part of your DNA which is why I bought adams, because his was an extremely awesome version of a colt |

Thanks adam, it is nice to have a local powdercoater, So that was really one of the first Mods, that I wanted to do. I am in the process of picking up some GT pedal assembly and hydro set up. So that will most likely be the next thing that I tackle. However work on this car is kind of slow now because I am in the middle of a very large fire surpression project on my 1g. So until that gets completed, I won't be really messing with the colt. |

Decided that I wanted to work on this car today, so a few months ago, I found a fellow in washington state, parting out a turbo colt. I immediately got a hold of this guy, as I wanted the pedal assembly and brake booster set up.. It is amazing how pricey that stuff is, especially when there are only 1600 turbo cars in all of north america. anyway on to the pictures non turbo vs turbo ( the turbo one has both studs in it) turbo on the right, non turbo cable driven on the left Mark and drill your holes in the firewall here is another strange observation the turbo brake cross bar and Non turbo brake cross bar are IDENTICAL Next I removed the non turbo brake booster and master cylinder, here is a comparision between turbo and non turbo ( larger diameter on the left is the turbo one) and everything installed we now have a master cylinder for the clutch Next up is the fuel system or maybe I will run brake lines to the rear, and finish up the brake system in its entirety, thanks for looking and more to come as always. |

Jeremy and myself had a few hours to play with the colt. First things up we mounted the morosso battery box to the tray...Realestate is very limited in the back of the colt, especially with the fuel cell located in that area. but with a litte evo hammer loving, the box fit perfectly While I was messing with that section of the car, jeremy installed some agxs with ground control coilovers in the front. We are also redoing the wheel bearings in the knuckles Then was the installation of the fuel pump, which was below the frame rail . ( I will get better pictures later) We then tackled the fuel cell enclosure , Just like my other car is set up, However we used thinner aluminum to bend up the panels More to come as always. |

Christ Is that a 15 gallon fuel cell in there. Kinda overkill and your right about the space. I'd be traded that out on CL. |

No that is a 10 gallon cell, 16.5 " by 16.5" by 9 inch tall. Not overkill to me for a street car |

I was able to do a little more work on the box, yesterday. Basically drilled all the holes in flanges, as well as the pilot holes for the rivet nuts, that are on the floor section. just one picture today Something new that I will try with this box, is using sealed blind rivets for everything... they should be in tomorrow. more to come as always |
