I've got almost the whole car documented now, but am wondering if I could get a shot of the driver door jamb plate, and the interior code option from the firewall. IT would appear that the hood was from a 1.5L car as it is tagged that way; wonder what happened to the original? Glad to see another car saved, haven't had an update to the registry with almost 5 cars swapping hands here in the last few months.

Enjoy your stay, very cool to a bit of nostalgia!

Cheers,

Tim

P.S. I run the Vin Registry. 8)
Thanks Tim, I still need to read through your thread. Curious to see what you could tell me about the car.

Ill get that info for ya asap.

I also have another one that is a red GT in my garage too. It's a local kid I know and I am doing some work to it but it is in worse shape. Not so much rust, dents here and there, lots of clear coat peeling. But it is fast as hell with a 2.4 liter G4CS Engine and a sc60-1 turbo and supporting mods. Ill get the info off of that incase you dont have it already.

Can anyone tell me if the dome light is supposed to work with the doors? Neither GT in my garage has a working dome light unless I manually turn them on. Maybe the door switches fail like DSM's do?

The light is definitely supposed to go on, but it's common to have the switches fail. The driver's side switch on my car works about 20% of the time, and the passenger side about 80% of the time. My dome light also flickers on and off while I'm driving, which is a whole other issue that I don't even want to deal with. I have it manually turned off most of the time.

Here is the GT twin that I have been working on. This is a serious fast car, tuning it yesterday dsmlink showed 43 lbs/min at 13 psi. Afraid to turn it up more with the traction issues. Not sure if you have info on this one yet or not.

My friends colt pictured above. 2.4 g4cs, fp3 cams, sc60-1 turbo, etc.

It may not be 500 HP (yet) but 43/lbs/min with what it weighs, she scoots pretty well.

How do you keep the front tires on the ground with a setup like that?

Well, cannot tell you more than what you have posted about your car to this point. The car was not on our radar until you got on the site. Super happy that it and another GT turbo got onto the listing; that made my day!

So, your entries for both cars are complete, but am curious to know if they are both federal or not? Emissions from the hood on your car will not say, but checking where the original EGR setup would have gone would tell us for sure, much like with the 2.0T DSMs I'm sure.

Well the first mods have began. Installed a boost gauge and HKS manual boost controller. This got rid of a ton of lag from the 14b but at 12 psi, led to a slipping clutch. :(

I assume a 6 bolt DSM FWD flywheel (light weight) and a clutch kit will work on the little 1.6?

Yeah you can use a 6-bolt FWD flywheel and a DSM clutch kit.

Captain and I both use a FWD DSM ACT 2100 combination, but in my case I am using a lightweight Fidanza flywheel, 8.2 lbs. Check my members thread post for the details of what fit for me.

The new one looks clean! I wish my GT was as clean as that one. I just can't seem to find a clean one to save my life, lol. I love my car but I can't justify spending over $1000 getting the body fixed.

Nice new colt!

You don't. When boost hits, the fronts light up, the car side-steps across lanes and then you get pulled over. So I've heard.
