I haven't made the dump tube or the exhaust yet. I'm having a issue with the alt grounding when the power wire is bolted up, almost burned the car down. :(

The Evo ecu swap is awesome :). Check out dsmecu.com for waaaaaaaaaaaay better info on that swap than the long thread on DSM tuners.

Did you get your ecu yet?

If you're not dead-set on ecu-controlled boost, then the 2001-2003 Eclipse M/T and 2002-2004 Lancer M/T ecus will work fine with the Evo 8 rom file. I have both, and each one runs my car exactly the same :).

You can also use the 2001-2004 A/T ecus, but there's a different wiring setup required, and a modded evo 8 rom is needed. My ecu of choice is a 2003 Lancer A/T, so I've got the file ;).

Also...it's not a well-known detail, but we discovered that you can use a $10 Ebay VAG-COM cable to flash the M/T ecus with Evoscan (there's a freebie flashing utility for the E8 and E9 cars). No need to splurge on any expensive cable. I've got a real cable, and a VAG-COM, and they both work the same.
