I recently picked up a 94 elantra for a daily driver 4g63t swap planned right from the getgo. The 4g61 thats in it actually runs awesome and doesnt use a drop of oil, but gutless as hell. So i might be doing the swap sooner than i thought as this thing is so slow its unbearable. Right now i am just getting the parts all together first before i swap I want this swap to happen in a day. Yes i am serious. No intercooler, and the exhaust will be getting spliced. 1 day. There always has to be something to make it a challenge so this is mine. 1 day swap.

Here is the plan
92 tsi awd engine 100 percent stock
transmission- 90 fwd transmission with ripgrip lsd awd 5th gear evo 3 shift forks
clutch is undecided as of yet.
axles?

Aggressive timeline. Ha ha, my swap to over a year.

Why not throw a 14b on that 1.6 and see how much longer it'll last?

I bet that 1.6 would handle 7-8 psi and last a while with no issues.

I thought of this too but it would be a waste of time. The stock clutch would only last 5 minutes. Its also difficult to put a turbo on it cause it doesnt have the hole in the oil pan for the oil return so its probably less work to just swap the whole drivetrain out.

Haha, probably

I know, useless post but I have been doing this a long time and a day is pretty much an unrealistic goal. A long weekend yes but one day not likely. Either way good luck man.

I got a vast assortment of piping from the autowrecker yesterday. Seeing as i already have a gm maf and 560's and the maft is tuned for it i might as well just use it. A lot simpler and cleans up the engine bay nicely, plus it gives me some tunability. And i get the bov sound. I scored a bumch of air hoses from fuel injected 2.3 mustangs. They have a 2 1/4 to 3 inch reducer which works good for intake pipes not sure how well itll handle boost but i guess ill find out the price was right. I got as much as i could carry for 5 bucks with clamps!!! They are like rad hoses they are rubber with some reinforcement im sure they will take moderate boost.

I ordered up a limited slip insert
evo 1/2 and 3/4 shift forks
That should take care of the tranny...

Got a fwd turbo flywheel, I will use a factory used awd clutch as i have a couple good ones here.

Motor should be good to go it doesn't leak so im not messing with it, Just gotta go get it ill go pull it next saturday.

Shit i forgot to order up a fuel pump.

And after A set of used 200 dollar 17's go a long way totally stoked on how they look on there. I only have them mounted on the drivers side i just wanted to see how they look and i'm buying new tires and i had to see them on the car before i decide if i should upsize them or not.
Planning on pulling the engine from the donor talon on sunday. The transplant should be happening within the next few weeks here.

205/40/17 I like how it looks i don't think a little more sidewall would hurt the looks too much, it sure would help with the ride quality.

I love these elantras. You really dont see them driving around too often anymore. Good luck with the build.
