todays work consisted of cleaning and general maintnance

heres the stuff being replaced

timing belt on and balance shaft belt back, water pump is lookin pretty

yup that alternator is like 2 months old, put on the stock crank pulley and cleaned up the timing cover

turbo assembly is off, time to wipe my baby's ass

intake manifold is being cleaned and prepped for re installation

id say my knock sensor is bad... i guess thats why i knock almost everywhere i go

Got the engine in and running... the chain that we hoisted the engine out with pushed on the cam angle sensor and threw me 180 deg out... after realizing the problem and eyed it up to drive... forgot to bring my computer with ECMlink and we couldnt get the timing harness to ground out so we couldnt set timing... BUUUT fixing the balance shaft belt and boost leaks has yielded SOOOOO much smoother power response and now my check engine light is non existant so im ready to re-do my fuel and timing maps and start over without leaks... ill post some links to youtube videos of the car and some pulls once i get the timing squared away and everything dialed in

Ahh cool, I live in MM too. I keep my DSM up in Escondido though, away from all the asshole cops. :lol:

A few of us are meeting up tomorrow night down at that big car show in Kearny Mesa. They have it once a month I guess. Used to be in the Lolita's parking lot, but I think it moved over to Sears because it got too big for Lolita's. I was tossing around the idea of driving the DSM, as long as it isn't raining.

Is at the sears off cleirmont Mesa blvd?? There was a big one there last month sometime. I've gotta work till probably 11 so I may not make it

Yeah, that's the one. They meet there the first wednesday of every month I believe.
