hopefully this isn't your filter  if so don't be ricer/racerish and potentially suck up some dirt, to kill your evo316g or scar your cyl. walls. With your setup you won't loose much horses with a K&N. Some people have no issues, but I had a friend in highschool who ran like this and sucked up a pebble, well that tiny pebble cracked his head and piston. professional racers roll like this because they can afford to replace/rebuild turbos and engines every few passes.

Until I can afford a $36 coupler from FP this is how it will be unfortunately.

Looks good, but holy hell get a filter. At least put the stock intake on with the maf out of the shell.

absolutely no oil on the turbo. It's fine so far, 1500 miles and counting, except the preignition in cylinder 2 that I'm trying to fix before the shootout.

Alot has happened since my last update, an injector failed at 8k rpm, causing the cylinder to lean out and melt 2 valves, a spark plug, and almost put a hole in my piston top.

Jared is sending me a piston, I replaced the two valves, I'll be chasing the spark plug hole with a tap, and hopefully the car will be ready to run at the shootout.

It's thursday morning I still need to clean the head and block surface, lap the 2 valves, drop the oilpan, install the new piston and rod, install the oilpan, put the head on, time the engine, install new injectors, and tune the car probably on my way to ohio.

I know I won't be needing these injectors anytime soon but I upgraded from the 1550cc injectors to the 2150 high Z injectors from FIC.

I'm starting to do some research for my next turbo option. Who knows what's next.

Well, A lot has happened since my last post, a lot of waiting for parts from vendors, and the setup has changed a little bit.

I'm swapping the stock 1.6 cylinder head out, the 2g 2.0 cylinder head will be taking its place. I've sold off the Brian Crower 272 camshafts, and picked up some HKS 272's in place. With the cylinder head It's supposedly very low mileage, but I'll be replacing valve seals, installing my BC springs and retainers, and lapping the valves anyways to make sure it's done properly.

I've moved up from 850cc injectors, to 1550cc bluemax injectors (which didn't work out) now I'll be using the 2150cc High Z injectors.

I have an AEM fuel rail to install, not sure if I'm going to use it yet or not.

I'll be sticking with the evo3 16g for at least the rest of this season so I can get a few good numbers out of it. I've been eyeballing a couple of 35r's and HTA turbo's here and there so I'm doing a ton of research in that aspect.

I'm also starting to accumulate parts for the Expo Brake upgrade.

I'll get some pictures and update later on, thanks for looking.

Picked up a 2g cylinder head complete. It's got 5k miles on it all OEM parts. I'm going to completely disassemble it and swap over my upgrades which include, BC Springs and Titanium Retainers(unless I can get a deal on some FP Beehives soon), HKS 272's, 3rd revision lifters, FIC 2150's, AEM High Volume Fuel Rail(unless I get a deal on the FIC or Magnus rail soon), 1g Throttle body, Super Tech Valve Seals. I'm also going to lap the valves and make sure the seat is nice and smooth for a tight compression seal!

On to the pictures as I'm sure I've bored you enough.

Expect this head to be just as clean as my last cylinder head when I'm done with it. Here are some reference pictures of before and after on my 1.6 cylinder head.

Alright, finally got some motivation to get some shit done. I pulled all the pistons and connecting rods out, removed the stock rod bolts, pressed in the ARP hardware, wiped down the crank a bit and threw in some new clevite bearings. Tomorrow I'll scrape all the gasket sealer off the engine block and go get a new oil pan from Autozone so I can get some more work done.

Here she is all back together, Number 2 cylinder (2nd from right) is the new home to Redline89's piston. Atleast one part of my motor has been in the 10's ;).

I always get the haters that tell me I'm lying, and sandbagging when I say I'm running a 1.6 liter, so this is for them...

Here's a shot of the damage from the injector failure.
