SO I made a pretty good 1st run at IFO but still making crappy 60' times. I tried to tighten up the 60' and launched it harder and this was the result...

SO I was told that I needed non-greasable (solid) u-joints and the factory ones are solid. I bought a set of O.E. joints and they are greasable (hollow) like the one that broke. I am only running 195/60/15's but the car squats really hard on launch. What u-joints are the best or should I be using some other drive shaft parts????

Thanks,

Always OEM! Here is a good cheap way to get them, if you buy the u joint alone the price is really high. http://www.jnztuning.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=2243

Yep the factory solid ujoints are the only way to go. The others will break. Buy the recall kit in link above. You basically get a free yoke with a ujoint vs buying oem ujoints alone.

So took the Summit out a few times this summer. I was washing it for a import car show in July and noticed bubbles on the roof. Long story short I pulled the headliner and pulled down the supports to find the typical rust. not a fun project but all rust removed and I painted the roof inside and out then put the supports back in. No racing this year and I have yet to get it tuned but planning on it soon.

So I drag raced the little blue car and noticed the hood gets hella hot. I thought up a idea and ran with it. I thought I posted it but do not see it so here is what I did. I cut the vents out of a MR2 hood and bought a new Summit hood. I marked the hood, cut out the rectangles and welded in the MR2 hood vents. Here are the pictures.

Finished product. I think I like it and it is not some stupid scoop. Still sleeper and since I did it to a different hood I can always throw the original hood back on!!

Enjoy

It turned out very well!

First large scale use of "slats", I've seen used on this platform. Seen use of smaller versions like Evo and Galant hood vents, but nothing ever this big. It works!!
