Did you take the large metal front bumper off? If so the wiring for the lights runs through it. You are correct about the dsm harness, about half of the plugs are unused since they had a lot more options.

What side does the wiring come from? Does it come from inside one of the fenders?

I know this is one LLLOOOOOOOONNNNNNG build but After my now 14 year old son finished his motocross season I dusted off the summit and decided to finish it. I finished the wiring for the AEM. Custom made a 3" stainless exhaust and heat shield, bigger radiator and made a remote waste gate due to space constraints with the bigger radiator.Custom fuel cell and a lot of other odds and ends. Freaking PTT clutch would not disengage so I pulled the trany(twice) before they sent me a clutch that would work. Got it running and sent it out for a base tune. Just want to get it drivable with 20 lb spring. Hope to go big once it is broken in.

Glad to see some more time and obviously the extra motivation to push a project forward after collecting dust for a bit.

Can't wait to see some pics!

OK, so my Summit made over 400HP on what was called a "safe" tune. No more that 10 degrees of timing with boost set at 21LBS, creeping to 25PSI. I drove the car today and WOW!! Blown away by the power it makes. Don't get me wrong, my previous builds were 70 Mack 1, V-8 ranger and 70 big block Chevelle before I went turbo. I build a turbo 84 escort that had a best run of 13.6 @107MPH. Here is a video of it running 13.8 @102MPH
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2sjDk9o3to
And then I built a 80 Corolla with a Mitsubishi Starion driveline, holset, 1600cc(these engines used 2 injectors, not 4)Megasquirt that ran 11.6 @117MPH, so I have built fun cars and driven quite a few more (I am a mechanic) customer cars.
This was AWESOME!!!!!!!! Wheel spin in 1st and 2nd, vehicle swatted in 3rd like it was being shot out of a cannon. I have lurked and read on here about these cars for the entire time but obviously I was underestimating what this engine/setup can do. I will post some pictures tomorrow of it completed, I have to chase down some rattles and vibration along with a exhaust leak.
Boost is such a drug!!!!
I will be going to Lebanon Valley in the spring to see what it does, shake down runs.
Short story but there was a member on here names something like Boscoe (Virginia area I think) who was selling a FWD white on Ebay in 2004 ish. He said it made 425HP, but ground going into one of the gears. I made a deal to buy but and, when I was leaving to go get it, he said he sold it. That is when I started to look for a clean CSM.
Forward TOO many years and being sidetracked with life, I feel like my balls grew to the size they were in my 20's. Not as big as many of you but like the grinch's heart they got bigger today.
I did a 3rd gear pull to redline and looked down to see 115MPH on the speedo, It felt like 80MPH.
Sorry for the long post but this build is awesome and I am pretty wound up at the moment.
Special thanks to all that helped me AND very special thanks to Raif ( not sure if anybody on here knows who he is) for the parts and expertise to make this happen!!

Is this the same car that has custom brake and fuel hard lines? I seen a youtube video awhile back of some of this cars progress and it is surely is done to high standards. Great work!

The Corolla with a Starion swap sounds pretty interesting. Got any pics?

Yes, the video's are on the 1st page of this thread. I get very picky when I fabricate and if I decide I don't like it I redo it until I do. I also get stuck thinking of the best way to design. I am my own worst enemy and then there is the " one step forward, 2 steps back" rule.
When I fit the 1st radiator with the Turbonetics manifold, the Tial wastegate fit fine. Then I decided the cooling sytem would not cut it so I bought a 3 core radiator and two 14" 2400cfm fans. after fitting it into the car the Tial now was hitting the radiator. I ended up fabricating a remote wastegate. I will post pics later tonight or tomorrow night with the engine pics. I did all the fabricating my self and probably have racked up 600 hours on this but..............
This car is unbelievable!! I took my son for a ride Saturday and on dry roads with 195/60r15 Geostar, no name tires it squated so hard the rear upper arms tapped the frame of the car, the techs at the shop said they think the front end came off the ground....... on a safe tune........... WOW!
I am going to take it to the track when it opens on the 195/60r15's to see what it will do.

Well done! This car looks awesome! Modest looking wheels, does not have any of the gt body kit, just looks slow as it gets! And so mint!
I loved how you took your time to do it right (something I can't do). And spent all this time not even quite realizing how potent a beast it was going to be.
I had to comment because your excitement for your car reminds me of how I felt about my 1990. Now I'm that much more excited about getting my car finished!

This is SOOOO true!! I wish I had built one when I was young but I probably would of done something stupid in it.
