To start off this thread I figured I would post pictures of the current 4G63T swapped colt that I am driving daily. I bought this car a few years ago from Minnesota but I cannot remember what his name was. Either way I drive the crap out of this car. 1989 Colt E.

Here is the car I picked up last night for $200 plus gas for the truck and a meal for my buddy totaling $260. This is a 1991 Colt with a 4-speed and 142,000 on the clock.

Nice find but we are actually quadruplets  . Natedog and Turbokid own identical white base hatches with the black bumpers.

Be sure to take some pics and post updates. It gives others inspiration and the want to get out there and work on their rides. It does for me anyway. Those 92 GVR4 wheels would look good on the white one too.

The 92 rims have snow tires on them. I have a set of 91 VR4 rims with summer tires on the white car now. I took some pictures but have to get going. I will post pictures of it sitting in the garage later today. I am pretty sure that the car will not have black bumpers when I am done with it. I have a tentative plan for bumpers and side skirts but need to consult with my buddy prior to making any posts on the idea.

That white car is rustier than shit and unsafe to drive on the highways in WI.
Please PM me for an address to drop it off at after you complete the 63T swap.
The car will be disposed of properly.

What rust are you talking about?

An update: I was cleaning the hatch area and took off the left black trim piece to clean underneath it. I reinstalled it and apparently did something wrong because the window exploded not 5 minutes after that.

I am taking it that the white with black bumpers isn't too common of a color combination. I plan on having color matched bumpers next year.

He was joking, I think he was saying he'd take the car off your hands. :P

If you're talking about the glass on the hatch itself, head down to watertown and get this spare hatch I've got. I can't bring myself to throw it away and I don't need it.

I wish it were that window but it is the left rear window between the driver's door and hatch.

Make that 6 of us. My 89 came with a 4 spd manual trans with a hydro clutch. White with black bumpers and no door moldings. It has been changed now though. Its got the white moldings with red strip and the bumpers have the same.

Im guessing everyone else has Sophia White like me? I know there were 2 or 3 shades of white offered in these cars.

I think mine is Summit white but I'd have to double check the paint code.

Here are some pictures of the broken window. PMA1123's dad works for Auto Glass Specialist and is getting me a replacement window for cheap. Now I need to make sure I don't brake another one.

This weekend I plan on taking out the junk 1.5 and 4-speed cable clutch transmission and hopefully the dash to get it ready for clutch pedal assembly and wiring.

Here are some more progress pictures. I am planning on taking care of all surface rust before putting anything back in it. While I had it this far apart I decided to strip out sound deadening to help repair the little bit of rust.

So I pulled the motor and transmission yesterday and I can honestly say that a 4-speed is ridiculously light. I literally picked up over the fender with one arm. Now the block is another story. Even though it is only 1.5 liters that cast block with complete rotating assembly is roughly 170 lbs. Without having a hoist I had to pick it up, rotate it and set it on the ground between the driver's side frame rail and the cross member. I would strongly recommend doing this unless you have some serious strength. Here are some engine bay pictures.
