I decided to head to the junk yard today with MAROONMETALLIC to pull a hydraulic clutch pedal assembly. We had to pull the dash and all in order to get the pedal assembly out. I should mention that it was about 10 degrees outside and the car had over a foot of snow all around it. The clutch pedal assembly has been installed already into the new car and holes drilled for the clutch master. Pictures have not been taken but will be tomorrow and uploaded.

Did you guys pull the brake pedal too? I can pull a hydro pedal from a 3g in 10 minutes. :P No need to pull the dash unless you're getting the brake pedal.

But then again I've pulled about 10 of these things, I think the first few took me a while.

Can't believe you guys hit the yard in 10 degree weather, here I am putting off going because its only in the 40's.

^^

I'm with Chris on that one, it's been a really warm week around here, and I still haven't had any motivation to go and work the rides. And a warm week here is like 40* lol.

We pulled the brake and clutch pedal assemblies.
When I did my cable to hydro clutch swap on an earlier colt, I found out I needed to replace both assemblies for the brake lights or the start switch to operate properly.

I would have loved to had 40* weather today.
I probably would have worked more on my 63 swap.

I don't know how Shawn fared in the weather but I have done it before and have the correct clothing to stay warm in. It was sunny and not windy so it wasn't too bad. If I hadn't ran out of money for the garage project it would have a heater but for this winter I am dealing without which really stinks. Either way I am going to keep working on it and see what I can get done before summer time.

Here are the pictures of the clutch pedal assembly installed. Today in this cold weather the sound deadening will be removed and surface rust repaired on the floor.

I went to the junkyard yesterday and it was actually really nice out. I am not sure of actual temperature but it felt like it was in the 30s. Last weekend when MAROONMETALLIC and I were done pulling the clutch pedal assembly I had mentioned that I still needed swap mounts and he told me there was an Elantra at this same junk yard. I went back and sure enough it was beckoning me to pull the mounts. It took roughly 3 hours to pull everything apart without destroying anything will all hand tools. Here is the donor car and mounts as pulled.

Wow, that's dedication right there. That rear mount is a PITA to pull for sure unless you jack the car up and get it from underneath. I usually try to find one with the head already pulled and then its fairly easy to get to but the bolts are still awkward to break loose.

What tranny are you planning to use, a dsm/csm turbo tranny? If so the elantra tranny mount won't work without being modded. Its basically a stiffened up version of the regular na csm mount.

I am hoping to use a F5M33 with cables and a modified shifter base out of a 91 up DSM. To get the rear bracket out I just took the intake manifold off and everything required to roll the motor forward. It was actually pretty darn easy but then again I have been known to do some difficult things without an issue. On my blue colt I am running a F5M33 with the shifter arm welded on and a modified Elantra mount for the step. I am heading back today with MAROONMETALLIC to look at a few things.

Spent some time working on the Colt this weekend. I first took apart the 6-bolt block to see what is needed to rebuild it after I do the fab work of intercooler piping and FMIC installation. I got this block from a friend and he wasn't sure what was wrong.

Just a little bit of crap on the pickup.

I am pretty sure that is a valve keeper. Number 4 rod bearing was destroyed so I am not sure if the crank is usable or not without getting it cut.

I forgot to take the front motor mount off the 1.5 but luckily it was still in the metal dumpster at my buddies shop.

MAROONMETALLIC and I went to the junkyard yet again yesterday and it was pretty nice out. We got a pretty good score. All of what you see below was $60.

Notice the under-seat tray, thanks for finding that Shawn.

After seeing the Yoshifab camber plates I decided to make my own. I already owned some TEIN camber plates for a dsm and planned on making them work so here are the plates I made.

There is just as much as any other ones. There are 4 threaded holes on the pillowballs, I just put them on the furthest outer ones.
