ok anywaise i didnt go for this and waited for the right one! im about to get 90 gs turbo for 500, but it doesnt start, and its not the engine, but will fix, this sat n sun pulling out the motor and wait for the 4g15 to breakdown, since its really getting close to. So i ordered lillevo's swap video but doesn't seem like its in progress anymore, hopefully it come in and didn't waste money, does anyone know if its still going on? So would there be much problem since the year 90 is a bit different from other years, or is it going to be easier? thanks
If you don't know what the problem is with the engine not starting, I would troubleshoot it when it is still in the dsm. Otherwise you are going to be racking your brain on why it doesn't start. Also I wouldn't trust whoever told you the reason why it wouldn't start.

OK today i finally cashed in on a donor car for my colt. It's a 1990 eclipse gst with some problems; First, i have to make it run because it doesn't start, it cranks but no start and sounds like it barley has power to crank. Second, it has a cracked valve cover and headers. After that its ready to drop in! Forgot to mention to swap over my 4g15 to the automatic car so i have something to drive. I got the automatic as a parts car and it has engine in it, it starts but doesn't run due to pistons being bad? and it has no power what so ever. So i decided to make it easier and swap mine over. :yawinkle: OK so i got the gst for 500buks, it came with (not on car)lowering springs, pistons, gasket set, 2 set of tools, kool racing steering wheels, now just to find and execute the problem. pics will be up soon

OK drained all the liquid from the auto and took off some wires. I tried to install the aftermarket steering wheel but couldn't even take off the stock ones, instructions on how?

Remove the horn button (slide up) while being careful, there is a wire (horn) attached to it. Once that's off, undo the bolt in the middle and smack the back of the wheel until it comes off. Might have to spray some lube down the splines to loosen it up. That's it.

Yep. Watch when you put it back on, there are holes on the steering wheel for the blinker switch to work properly. You'll see what I mean when you take it off.

OK i got the steering wheel on and yes i tried to put the holes properly but i guess i didn't and its messing with my blinkers. Will have to take it out and refit it again. Snow is melting so as soon as i get the eclipse running i will be rebuilding it with the pistons i had received with it. The eclipse hub fits on the colts?

Yes, you'll have to take the wheel off and rotate that little collar piece until it works right.

Ok so pictures are being taken today. I'm going to rebuild it but don't know if the pistons i received is aftermarket or just stock ones. Do i need to chang out all the berings and is this job better doing on a engine stand, i would think so. IF im going to rebuild it should i make it run first, or just rebuild and make sure everythings good. Also the ecilpse hubs will fit on the colt? Spring is just around the corner and i need to make sure my facts are correct. Everything is stock on the engine besides the blow off valve.

So i guess im not going to diagnose the problem for the 4g63 becuase im rebuilding it. When its out i'll just double check everything and change every sensors. 4g63 is being rebuild this weekend and hopefully things go accordin to plan. Very slow progress.

If it's not knockin, I wouldn't even unbolt the mains. Stock bearings (assuming good maintenance) can last 200k.

So another Q came through my mind. Can i use the eclipse axles? Whats different from a 90's harness compare to the other years, wouldn't a 90 be easier to swap since it already have the coil pack that was needed to run the tach. Im starting to think that i won't be able to finish it and fail. The harness job is going to be a headach, already is. sorry no pics yet hopefully this weekend

Thanks

Pretty sure those are stock 4g63t pistons. CAPS says it fits the D22A, D27A, and E39A, which are 1g FWD, AWD, and GVR4 respectively.
