90 degree day will tell you the best. Why not wrap at least your downpipe and or o2 housing? Sheds some engine bay heat and helps to protect your alternator voltage regulater. I understand why you don't want to wrap your exhaust manifold cause I have wrapped the tubular ones and it sucks if you ever have to take it out and put in a few times cause the wrap falls apart and just being near me makes me itch.
I did a wrap job on a complete exhaust header for a sti before installing it. That exhaust job was all on my back and had the glass falling on my face and arms. I was like a pitbull who snorted hotsause aka all kind of ticked off. :axe: I just had to use that emoticon

The 02 housing is ceramic coated and I have a turbo blanket. I have nothing else, I still need to get the exhaust fabbed up :o

Broke down and decided to order some new wheels, they are 15x7 +34. Going to go big on tires and run some 225 60s hoping to lengthen my gears a decent amount, should be a bit over 10%. I will reveal them when they are on the car :finga:

Very interested in how it looks. I know I like my 195/50r15's, but I also know that my MOH is off (using a good GPS I found I am off about 6-7mph @ 75. At least it keeps from speeding around!

Wow, got the wheels already, not sure sure how that's possible but I missed the delivery, going to pick them up today, I'll snap a couple naked shots.

I haven't weighed them yet but I believe they are rated at 14lbs. Not bad.

Hahaha it was a toss up between black and polished, it already has black wheels so I guess I decided to go polished based off that.

Weighed them at 14.0 lbs. and they clear the gvr4 brakes by 1/8th in. :o

I think the polished will look good, can't wait to see them mounted up.

Wheels look good, but those tires are probably going to look goofy and huge with that much sidewall.

I hope that was a typo on tire size and you meant 225/50. A 225/60 is 2.5" taller than stock and likely won't clear the struts

I have coil-overs I can install so the 225/60 would clear, they are for commuting only as I have other track tires, but I am still debating tire size. Remember off-set is +34.

Stock 195/60/14 = 4.6in. side wall, 22.3 diameter.
average 225/50/15= 4.4in. side wall, 23.9 diameter.
current 225/45/16= 4.0in. side wall, 24.0 diameter. (clears stock struts fine)
debating 225/60/15= 5.3in. side wall, 25.6 diameter.

Weather they will clear the stockers or not idk but i don't think it would look goofy, maybe meaty. The point is I'm trying to bring my highway cruise RPMs down on the cheap.

OK, so I ended up getting some brand new Cumhoe Ecsta ASTs in 225/50/15 mostly because of price for $290 shipped, couldn't beat that, I'll experiment with a taller tire next time or by then I'll probably have a better geared trans, we'll see. Getting them mounted and installed today so I'll get some pictures up soon :)
