A little to update. This weekend I picked up a set of five lug hubs so I am in compliance with the scta rule. I picked up two 15" steel skinny rims for my 5 lug lsr tires up front. I also got the larger dsm brakes as well as new pads and rotors. So I have another new set of breaks. These current ones don't even have 100 miles on them.

We completely finished the roll cage as well. Finally. With work and life it was a drawn out process. We also finished the parachute as well. The release cable, pack, mounting tether, everything.

I also picked up new tail lights and a new rear bumper. We removed them after the fire and threw them away. Now we needed them.

We also finished the push bar.

So much much closer to the end now. I'll get pics in the next few days.

Just a little bit closer.

Got the dsm knuckles, calipers, rotors and pads on the car. So now I am fully SCTA compliant there with my 5 lug drive wheel setup. Installed the rear side lexan windows. Installed the new rear bumper and modified it for the push bar. Bought four steel spare rims for my land speed/front runner tire setup. Installed my SCTA compliant 1" open acorn lugnuts.

I also ordered a set of adjustable camber plates to help align the car with the new knuckles that were not meant for my car.

Hopefully a few more things coming this weekend. Getting closer and closer.

No pictures tonight.

Got the suspension back in and camber close to the correct angle. Also began the process of making my front bumper. Not much to speak of now. Just in the process of starting body work. Hopefully I can have the roof rails done this week some time.

Thats what I am saying. I am already $300 worth of foam into it and it still looks like a box.

Certainly have not forgot about this. I have been busy with my new galant that is all. Putting a new motor and tranny together for that.

But we started sanding last night and are getting close to laying fiberglass down for the front end.

Wow, your front-end could double as a place for homeless people to live when you aren't racing.

What do you mean am I kidding? Its a nose to make the car more aerodynamic. What is so bad about that? Nothing hundreds and thousands of salt racers haven't done before me.

I'm not going to pretend that I know anything about aero, because I don't, but what makes you think you need something like that? Vernon's GVR4 and Reichen's EVO 2 are doing well over 200mph with a basically flat front-end.

Im going to offer some advice, but only on the color scheme before you paint it

You may even consider calling Oscar Meyer and seeing if they would sponsor you?

Vernon is making 950-1000whp and Mike is in the 1050-1150whp range. Both more than double my output. And Mike has more than a "flat" front end. You have to rememeber Mike has been in a wind tunnel and has been tweaking his car for a few years now aero wise. Remember, I have seen and raced with his car a few times. Be it the shootout or the Texas Mile.

We feel this is the best approach for my car. There is a picture or two a few pages back to give the general idea we all came up with. The old salt racers also agree that our approach is a half way educated one. I hope it works. I just want to haul ass next year.

The car is prepped for paint. The inside of the car is getting painted black and the outside is going to be a silver color. I still have a little more to do inside the car, but the body it ready. We have not made too much progress on the front end, but it is pretty much ready for fiberglass.

Now after dicking with the other car, I have a spare good running motor for the colt. I have a head I am working on right now for it, I am just a set of cams away from getting this thing on the motor. I have no intention on swapping parts if something happens to the motor racing. So I will have to identical setups. Just pull out the hurt motor, and install the back up. Same cams, same oil filter housing, water pump and all. Finally nice to have a spare running motor, too bad it is only a stock motor. But hea, at least I am a year ahead of schedule to where I wanted that program to be. I was planning on building one next year, but now it is done. And it is cheaper. Now I have can also run in two engine classes.
