14b is on bitches.

FIC 1150's are on the way. The 450's are maxed out at 120% duty cycle with E85 on wastegate pressure. This was 11.1psi as recorded by the AEM 5 Bar MAP sensor. Still should do a boost leak test, but not sure if it is worth it as the FMIC is going on soon.

Makes full boost at 3300-3500rpm at the moment.

Raced a 300zx twin turbo on the way home from the install. It was definitely a turbo with mods unknown though. Had a small and classy body kit, larger classy wing, and a larger exhuast that said Stillen on both tail pipes. Uh, he lost by 2-3 cars to the top of third. Raced him from a dig and a roll and he never had a chance. Actually the faster we went, the more I pulled. And that was ZERO tuning after the turbo install. Everything appeared to be within a few percent of the 11b tune so I figured it was ok to hand out an as whooping.

The boost will go up later this week or next when the 1150's come in. I will have to keep it a hot pipe setup for now until I can get the car to a space I can take it down for the install. I think I can muster 15-18psi without an intercooler though. The 1150's and E85 should allow for that just fine.

Hard to say where boost begins to drop off, but at the moment it holds 11-12psi all the way to the revlimiter. The boost curve looks like a table top on dsmlink.

Bring it on bitches. Smack downs coming to a street near you soon.

Steven

Don't be jealous. 14b is coming for you. The goal is 13.2@108 or so full weight with Jason's or Bobby's slicks.

As soon as the injectors are installed and tuned. Maybe two sundays from now. You bet your ass. Won't be the same race I promise you. Car has serious top end now.

FIC 1150's are in. I am now at 22psi falling to 21psi. But above 6000rpm now I am having spark issues. I gapped the plugs lower(from .026 to .020) and that did nothing. I filled up with gas thinking that I was low. Not it. So tomorrow I am going to try new plug wires from mitsubishi. The ones one there aren't too hot.

I will bring both extra coils, regap the plugs to .026, change the fuel filter again and try another regulator or two to see if that does anyting.

Just a small spark issue that is only evident under boost. A free rev while rolling will allow me to go to 7500rpm.

This thing should do well when the FMIC goes on. Still on the stop hot pipe setup. Still need to do a boost leak test some day. It is no rocket ship, but it is getting faster. he tune is spot on though. I can run 1st-5th gear with no knock and the boost not falling off. You can feel the heat soak however. Right now 4th is the most exciting gear.

After dicking with the car today for nearly two hours, Jason and I got no where.

I regapped the plugs to .026. Bought new plug wires from the dealer. No dice. New MAS. No dice. New coil pack. Nada. New transistor. Crappity Crap. Messed with dmslink some. Same shit. Boost leak test. Showed I need a new throttle body, but not horrible by any means.

Thought almost all day at work while doing my departments inventory.

Three things Jason and I narrowed down. Maybe fuel filter(less than likely, as it was replaced 1000 miles ago after 1000 miles previous with E85), Cam Angle Sensor(possible), and fuel pressure regulator(possible(122,xxx miles and 2000+ with E85).

The only other thing that crossed my mind later in the day was the injectors. But it could not be as the are brand new straight from FIC. Then I got to thinking more. I tuned the car full out tuesday night. Then parked the car and it did not start until it was moved into the garage last night(friday). Injectors came in and were installed. NOTHING ELSE CHANGED. Did the tune later last night and on the first pull at 11-12psi(wastegate pressure) it started. I mean the first pull. Finished the night off with the tune and moved on to today's events.

Got really mad tonight. Made the mother in law move her saturn out in the driveway. Pulled the damn thing in and put the 450's back in. Did a pressure test to ensure no fuel leaks would happen. Put the last map I had from the 450's in the from last week. Fired it up, double checked for leaks and headed out.

The car went straight to 7500rpms. Set the rev limiter higher just to test it. 8250 without a problem.

fruit and banana new 1150's are junk. Now gotta call FIC monday and send these POS's out.

Another 1-2 weeks out before I can play above 20psi again.

fruit and banana

Steven

Sucks about the 1150s, but at least you found the culprit.

1150's did not arrive today. Maybe tomorrow. However. I did pick these up today from the fab shop.

Seems to be the best $40 I have ever spent. This should drastically reduce any wheel hop my junked out stock suspension might create.

Let us know how they work out, I was thinking of turning some aluminum inserts at work for the colt. Do you remember the dimensions you gave the machine shop?

No. I just dropped them off and picked them up. He had something laying around for the rear, but he had to go get another piece of stock for the front as it was a bit larger. These were pressed in. No heating.

Jaysmirage is getting my set when I am done to get his pressed in. That way it is a easy swap for the both of us. However, there should still be enough left that when Jason's mounts come out we could have one more set made.

All you would have to do is pay the $40 plus shipping. Let me know if this is an option.
