Car insured for agreed upon value of 10K, current as of June 4/2019. That is the good news. Bad news, tow home due to hot restart and running incredibly lean or barely able to run at all. Silver lining - Hagerty car club covers first 80 miles or so, of towing. I ate into that a little bit. Got the car home and went over it, but by the time I plugged in the laptop after it had been in the garage for a while (but 1+ hr at the break down spot had no effect), the car ran fine. So, was it fuel related? Some suggested so, and I put on a new OEM cap to make sure that venting function, does exist and no suction was created in the tank system when warm/hot from sitting on a hot day. I have a new spare gas cap which is a cap-less style as it is called, so the nozzle goes right in the cap, and opens a little flap door - nothing more than that. I was curious if fuel related problems could be caused by my vacuum routing of the fuel pressure solenoid or if pressure was an issue to begin with and or if pressure after shut down was bleeding off by design (flow versus bleed down to meet oem requirements per some enviro emissions law), and aeromotive says in their literature that they focus on flow and as such, it will bleed down the moment the fuel pump is shut down, and pressure is therefore relieved as it follows into the return tube to the tank. Decided to open my SX Performance/Buschur Racing style AFPR. Diaphragm torn on one side, fuel bubble popped as the vacuum hose was drawn off the vacuum nipple, and more fuel evident in the cap area where atmostphere alone, is supposed to be. Backstory to the SX/Buschur AFPR - it is a bolt on affair. Nothing simpler by design - one o-ring at the rail, and some parts inside the FPR to balance and keep things separated. Turns out the no longer produced top SX portion with the bottom section Buschur part (produced by ... see tuners thread on this one), had a new lease on life. Edelbrock was reported to have purchased SX Performance and as such are offering replacement diaphragm/FPR kits. Parts were listed in a thread on Tuners. I found the part numbers and link from Tuners, and was offered on Jegs.com and summitracing.com to name a few. SX performance may still have the parts too as the OEM number in house for them was also listed in that thread. I believe the part number is as follows based upon my order through Summit Racing.com: "EDL-178010 Fuel Pressure Regulator Rebuild Kit, Diaphragm Type, Kit (Mfr. #: 178010)" I will add some pictures to show TB work, FPR issues, and ISC stuff. This may take some time. |

Pics. The ISC show was the wrong type, in that the tip not shown, was the wrong shape. It should have been skinny and long, versus the flat stub like one as shown from the other side. I did install socket head bolts that allow access with allen wrenches or ball socket extensions for use with short ratchets. This was especially good for the TPS, and adjusting it without needing to find space for an 8mm wrench end or a JIC head screw driver (remember all Japanese cars of this era use JIC type bits, NOT Phillips!). Shown would be my SBC kevlar clutch versus the same model that had issues with rivets stampings and even had the better Exedy center section, but unfortunately couldn't use that one. It had to go back to keep the one with no issues.

Flywheel before sanding to match Tim Zimmers recommendation for grit prep. Removed and proved the FIAV was moving from freezer cold, to 90 C and up. All channels cleaned and reinstalled FIAV cap and internals with blue loctite on the threads of the cap. Cleaned up the OEM ISC as pictured with silver metal cap. Had at least on spare hanging around too ...

90 DSM 60mm turbo throttle body is identical to a 1989 Mitsubishi Mirage turbo throttle body. The only difference is in the bore or lack there of through the center, and the corresponding throttle blade/plate change to suit. Should I ever install a newer updated ISC, I would be asking the company that made this adapter to check out their connector stock, as I had to sand and file the ever loving jebus out of those areas that came into contact with the OEM connectors, in the worst way. It works as it should now, but the plastic was bowed out considerably and all around. How my system is configured, wire locations, etc. Remember that 1989 Mirage Turbo wiring is identical to 1990 DSM turbo wiring!

SX Performance/Buschur Racing setup - complete with torn diaphragm! This might explain my grams per second reading high and my maf comp being a little off where it was last season. Vacuum leak, yep ... but fuel then being ingested into the intake manifold where it should not be! Sealing up the vacuum port threads with a little OEM approved thread sealant.

Every one of those I've ever seen leaked and people have nothing but issues with them, it is also near impossible to get another diaphragm. Also I can't see any of your pictures, every post has "You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post." attached at the bottom of each post? |

I logged in and all pics are up. That said, are you logged in when you can’t see the pics? We will see what happens with a replacement diaphragm. If it works, hurray. If not, I had to try it first before installing the aeromotive. |

Strange. I get that message when viewing as a guest, but it all works as it should when logged in. I think all the attachment photos work that way, once uploaded to the site. Maybe this a good question for Nate. |

That’s strange. I would contact natas, because permissions should be okay for anyone to view the pics. |
