My clock is going bye-bye...

Just bought this :).

It'll read boost off the GM map sensor, as well as pressure/temp/EGT. There's also a peak-and-hold function, and an alarm. It can also be configured to activate a relay if the alarm activates :). If I had an LC-1, it could read AFR too, lol. Not to mention the size is awesome :).

Holy crap, what a terrible job. Putting a gas tank back in on your own, ugh.

The walbro is working great, no leaks anywhere, and all new fuel lines from the hardlines to the pump. I love a job well done :).

100% complete and leak free :).

Plugged up the last of the holes (stupid body plugs), and now the car is finally ready to sit and wait for the safety/emissions testing. I did manage to find a place to get it 'appraised' for cheap though. In Ontario, if the car is older than 20 years, the MTO doesn't have any idea what to gouge you for when you register it. They usually take the bill of sale and compare it to the 'black book' value. There's nothing older than 20 years on the books, so they require a basic appraisal. Luckily there's a little green form you can take to a car dealer (or anyone who has their dealer's license and makes most of their income from selling cars) and they can fill it out. A local garage will do it for $20, and the car doesn't need to be there ;).

My bill of sale says $500, so they'll put $500 as the value, which means I won't get hammered so hard on the taxes.

Oh, also tested the two-step rev limiter built into the mitsubishi ecu ROM file. Works great.

My boost gauge came in :).

Damn...this thing is TINY. It's perfect! It'll fit right in the spot where the clock is on the Colt dash, with some creativity. I'm not a huge fan of the way the wiring is done, but a bit of liquid electrical tape will make everything safe and sound.

I also snagged a Snow Performance progressive water/meth kit for $150 over the weekend, because the pump was seized. A few minutes worth of work, and it's good as new again though. The seller also threw in an Autometer sport comp water temp gauge, which kicks ass, since I don't trust any of the gauges in my car, lol.

Got 90" of replacement brakeline. I'll be replacing it from the joiner up front, all the way to the caliper. I got most of it off on sat, and got a bit of good news too. The bleeder for the rear caliper isn't seized :). I'll be able to give it a decent gravity bleed, and then the traditional way. Hopefully I'll get to it this week.

Sigh. The engine is coming out so I can address a leak behind the timing belt cover. I'm not so masochistic that I want to try to fix it with the engine in the car. This will give me a good chance to upgrade to one of my 14bs or maybe take a chance on the homemade S16G ;).

I've also decided to do the suspension over the winter. The stock shocks are deadsville, and I HATED my last car on DSM shocks/struts, so I'm going to try some base model 02-07 lancer stuff :). If the evo 8-9 struts fit...then I'd imagine the softer stuff does too.

A nice 4G67 cylinder head :). It's rough, but everything is there, and the valves aren't bent (timing belt was still intact on donor). I'd like to stay with the 61T, so if I can find another one (*cough*Tim*cough* ;) ), I'll build up a nice spare engine and put this head on it.

I'm SORELY tempted to go back and grab the seats from the Elantra too. They're really nicely bolstered, and are height/lumbar adjustable. I like the GTT seats, but they're too flat at the base for my liking.

From a Colt 200GT I grabbed some turn signals, a dash pocket (with a good door!), a fusebox cover that's still got the writing on it (mine's effed up), and a colt grille WITH NO BROKEN ANYTHING! :D That's an awesome find, because my grille is held on by a single tie-wrap, lol. I'd like to get the headlights too, since I don't have a complete spare set.

Well, the engine is back in. There's still a small oil leak, from the exact same spot, but I can't muster the urge to deal with it right now. It's smaller than before, but the car won't be legalized until next spring anyway.

I've added a 14b as well, for a bit more oomph on the 1.6. I'm also very tempted to delete my PS and do the alternator relocation, so I'd have a bit more room up front...;)

Bah, keep the power steering. The only benefit would come from welding the stub shaft in the rack with the hydraulic operation removed to get rid of the on/off center feel issues. Our main man from France coltixim did that, I'm sure he has some pics. I love the power steering in these cars, makes you want so many other cars to feel like this one. the down side is getting the rest of the cars suspension, tightened up and ready for the twisties. Gatineau Hills is a decent test bed at the speed limit.

What component is leaking exactly???

and don't worry about the alternator, relocation just cuts off the chance that you want to install AC in your car. :butthead:

It's seeping from the crank seal, which is new :(. I ghettoed a fix, but it clearly didn't work as well as it could have. It's also leaking from the oil pressure sender, but that's easy. I may try to round up a spare 4GXX block over the winter and prep it to go in later, so a little oil leak (only when the oil is warm, and the engine running) is fine for now. I hate having a car apart over the cold months, so I threw everything back in and called it a day.

The reason I was considering deleting the PS and relocating the alt was so that I could run an Evo 8 manifold/turbo, lol. They're twin-scroll 16Gs, and spool really fast. Not to mention they flow amazingly well, and are cheap to buy used :). Probably won't do it though, since I've got a bunch of 14Bs (thanks again!), a 13G, and a S16G, so I really shouldn't spend on any more turbos.
