There's a ton of info in that link, hope you like reading :).

I've decided to redo my intercooler setup, as it's proving very difficult to route the lower coolant line with the bottom-mount IC. I've got a buddy's Saab Viggen FMIC on the shelf and I might just see if he's willing to part with it. If not, I'll try to re-mount my current one up front.

The Viggen IC is really thin, so it might be a great fit up front, without making the bumper look saggy. I guess we'll see tonight.

Got the colt starts on the Evo ecu down to a few cranks, even at 32*F :).

Today's been a good day. I've been outside since 8am doing car stuff for various people. First my dad came over to get me to re-wire his trailer, and then I did some welding on a buddy's project car. I also sold my riding mower ( ), but it was necessary to get some crap cleared up.

I also spent some time rebuilding a headlight. I've got two of each, but only one of each pair are good. I came out the other day to find my only good driver's side headlight smashed to pieces :(. I must have dropped something on them when it was cold and didn't notice. I somehow managed to get the lens off the bad one and put it on the good shell, so everything turned out well in the end.

Nothing like easy puttering work on a sunny (and almost WARM) day to make 8 months of hibernation worth it.

I had to break down and spend a bit of money today :(. I needed an inline rad hose filler, and some 2" silicone hose, so I placed an order with siliconeintakes.com.

I hate spending money, grrr.

Got a freebie slim fan from a buddy, and it fits PERFECTLY. Tomorrow I should be able to get it mounted properly, and possibly begin the wiring :).

I redid my patch harness in order to use the 2002 Lancer A/T ecu vs. the 2003 Eclipse M/T ecu I am currently on. There's no real difference, except I took a bit more time to make this harness, so it's a LOT better, lol.

Went to the scrappers today, but there wasn't a single Hyundaibishi :(. I did grab a shift knob from a 2003 Elantra though, since it's a neat round ball and weighted. Perfect fit.

I have to splurge on a Lancer fan module too, bah.

The 2002+ Mazda MPV uses the same fan module, so I grabbed one of those. Turns out there's some other issue, because it still doesn't work right. I tried the M/T and A/T ecus, flashed different files to each, and generally beat my head against a wall for an hour. I've decided to go with the OG fan control scheme, since I'm not about to spend $100 on a new module only to have it not work too. To go that route I need to round up a thermoswitch and one of the inline gauge adapter dealies, since the Neon rad doesn't have a port for the switch.

Everything I need to 'finish' this drawn-out horror is on the way.
This is the first time I've put the responsibilities of a being a grown-up ahead of finishing my car, and I can't say I enjoyed it at all, lol. If I had spent the way I usually spend, it would have been done months ago. I would have been homeless and divorced, but my car would be done ;).

Except two of the three things I ordered are on backorder. M****RF****R. Now I'm trying to cancel the order so I can find another supplier.

I hate cars.

HA! Engine bay DONE :D.

...rad leaks, lol. I have to pull it out and slap some JB weld on the leaky port, and that'll be all the rotten work done. I have to bleed my clutch and build the downpipe, but that's the fun stuff :).

JB Weld...welding currently. Should be a few days, it's pretty deep.

Ah well, time to research a few things :).

Mine is leaking from that busted tranny cooler port, so it's now sitting full of JB weld :). I'm confident that'll fix it, so I can hopefully bleed the clutch and finish the downpipe this coming week.

If it doesn't work, I'm getting a can of Barr's Leaks, lol.

Bah, the tranny cooler fitting popped off and the whole thing fell into the rad. Looks like I'm replacing it, because I don't want bits of JB weld in the cooling system, and a patch over the hole becomes a liability IMO. I'll head to the scrappers and pick up a replacement soon.

I installed the front end the other day, and I have to say that it fits like crap! The PO was fond of smashing things it seems, and everything is out of alignment. It's as good as it's going to get, and it's pretty bad. I suppose this car is the spiritual successor of the Scummit sedan I had years back.

The purge of the 1.75" exhaust has begun! My 'ebay' 1G AWD downpipe came in, and is now modded for an O2 bung for the wideband. This allows me to keep the stock O2, to take full advantage of the Evo ecu's closed loop. It's all installed in the car already, and 3/4" of the stock system is waiting for disposal. The rear axle part is still there for now.

FYI, the 1G FWD downpipe would fit better. The AWD hits a bit where the control arms meet the body. Once the rest of the exhaust is on, it will clear just fine though.

Sucks that rad didn't work out!

Hey, my front bumper will have to switch out soon enough. That frees up a nice repainted silver bumper if you can use it. Just have to pull the intercooler in closer for the Euro/JDM bumper to fit.
