Is it possible and has anyone done a shifter swap with the DSM's? This would make a shorter shift throw for us, dontcha think? Please let me know if its possible, as the throw is just too far for me cause my arms are long and I cannot shift fast into second without mushing my elbow/tricep into my seat....

I don't know if it's possible to swap the shifters. But if you would really like to have a short shifter, then just pull your original shifter out and have it cut and welded back together.

It should cost about $30 to have that done.

Mofugas sells an actual shortened shifter for $125 that might fit. It's done the right way by lengthening the shiftet below the pivot point which allows more cable movement for less movement of the shifter.

The Vfaq has a couple of good articles. If you read through those and take a close look at our stock shifters you should be able to find out what is involved in swapping in a Mofugas unit.

I had one out of a AWD. I had to cut the bottom plate to use it. the AWD plate is shorter. It will not mount in the M/C with some brackets being made.
I agree, add the length to the bottom.

I've installed and used "short throw shifters" other than the cable types. Is it harder to shift with the cable type shifters like it is with the linked shifters?
