Quick question, will the 88 Starion tdo5 turbocharger fit the 4g61t M/C? and how much bigger/smaller are the starion turbo's compared to the M/C stock turbo?

yes it is a small 16g. that is what i'm told from the dealer.

Make sure it is in fact a TD05 and not a TC05 which is a POS.

the stock starion/conquest turbo is not a 16g, its like a 13b or something even smaller than the stock DSM turbo.

edit: and the exhaust wheel is slightly smaller than a stock DSM's too. I remember getting a 20g rebuild that was supposed to be for a starion, but it was for a DSM and the exhaust wheel wouldn't fit inside the starion exhaust housing..

huh, then i need to go have a chat with the guy at the dealership because he said they were 16g tdo5 housing turbos.

im pretty sure you'll find the starions ran a tc05 turbo, which were not watercooled turbos.

If you ask me, the 2.0l Starions had TC05 turbos. No Starion or Conquest had ever a watercooled turbo. BTW, didn't the 2.6l Starion have a TC06?

Sorry, but the starquests had TD05 turbos, and they were watercooled from the factory.
Oh, and I found out that the turbo's from a starquest is a TD05 12a.
here's a pic of the 12a vs a 17C. Guess which one was better on the conquest..



Edit: sorry thats a 17C not a 20G.

I could have sworn they didn't have watercooled turbos. Or am I perhaps confusing the Starquests with the Cordia turbo? *clueless*
