They ROCK! These things are soooo much better then the rear KYB AGX on the mirage!!! It sucks that you have to take them off to adjust them, but at least you don't have to use a pillow for back cushioning when driving on the highway.

On top of that, even with my first attempt at adjusting them the car seems more balanced now.

With that said, the KYB AGX's are probably better dragracing shocks then the koni's.

Speaking of AGX's, I have two rear AWD AGX's forsale, with not very many miles on them.

I've had Koni's on the back for as long as I've had the car and I like them. The front shocks are factory, the owner before me blew the Koni's. I need new front shocks and a good alingment.

I've had adjustable front & rear konis for a couple of years & have had no complaints. Car is very stable, probly only needs a rear sway bar to dial out the last bit of understeer.

To adjust the rears I didn't think you had to take them out though.

Cheers

I've never adjusted them, actually I don't know where to adjust them if I did. Is it on the top or bottom?

I'm running 250lb springs in the rear and the koni's are set at 1 turn.

The shocks have to be compressed completely to adjust them. If you don't have bumpstops I guess you could adjust them while on the car.

geez 25olb, what brand are they? i would imagine the ride is very harsh?

yeah you ahve to take the shock out, put one end in a vice, compress the thing until the valve thingy locks and then turn to adjust (2 turns is max).

Hey jmauld, how much do you want for your agx's, do they fit on with no problem?

I have the following:
340lb Front springs with AGX struts.
250lb Rear Springs with Koni struts.

The ride actually isn't bad with the koni's. With the AGX in the rear it was really bad! The rear AGX are just too stiff for the short wheelbased hatchback cars and they cause the cars to bounce instead of working the suspension.

While autocrossing I was having a problem with the car spinning out while in a long sweeper. Basically what was happening was that the suspension would settle, and then I would hit a bump. The rear AGX's are so stiff that they would actually bounce across the bump and cause the car to spin. I called Mike@DSS (he roadraces A LOT) and he confirmed what I was thinking without me making the suggestion of what I thought the problem was.

The AGX need to have a spacer (available from DSS) to make them fit. Someone also said you could use the original mirage spacer. I never attempted this.

My AGX's are already spoken for, sorry.

Jason

There used to be a site (solaris racing) that had the springs rates on it, but I can't find that info now.

From memory they were in the 190lb range for the front, and maybe 180lb for the rear?

Sorry This may not be nummers everyone hoped for but according to my manual
front springs = 106 (lbs/in)
rear springs = 104 (lbs/in)

and on a side note Solaris still exists http://members.tripod.com/~solarisracing/ but has almost nothing on his site any more

sorry to expose you mark but I saw your name on here in the member list "mmcnamara"

So he may wish to respond or send all the stuff he used to have.
