It is a 13t turbo for a Subaru Forester. If this won’t fit can someone point me in the right direction to find a decent turbo that will bolt on and not cost me a fortune?

My car has been sitting for about a month due to a major boost issue (zero boost and a screaming turbo) I haven’t had time until now to begin looking into fixing it but I figure I might as well just put an upgraded turbo on it while I’m screwing around in the engine bay.

nope that wont bolt up at all... and for 150 bucks it might last 3 months lol... is it a stock 1.6l? or has it been swapped to a 63?

Yea it is a stock 1.6l. I want to put a slightly beefier turbo on it while I’m trying to solve my major boost/vacuum leak issue that started about a month ago. I haven’t had time to work on it until now and I plan on diving into it this coming weekend.

best replacement would be a evo 3 16g turbo..

first one is cheap china bay one.. some have ok luck with them.. some blow in first 50 miles... its a game of chance with them...

second one is a mhi.. which is a real replacement.. not a knockoff.. I have 1 of these on my 1.6 with a FP manifold.. works great... but I bought mine back in 04 when they first came out and only paid 550.. so they went up a lil but not too bad..

you can still find them for sale on tuners just make sure its the mhi one..

With my newly arisen electrical issue that I discovered today I am probably just going to push the car into my garage and start tearing it apart and doing some well need maintenance over winter and try to have it rebuilt with the one 16g by spring. Thank you for the info! If you would mind suggesting some supporting mods to go with the 16g addition I would appreciate that.
