hey guys just wondering if anyone has done this to their colt??? i called a few a/c service places and got different answers. One place said they could "retro fit" the connectors and replace the seals change the oil on the compressor and add freon ......The other shop said i had to change out the compressor and heat exchanger to run the R134 freon ....One is obviously costing much more just trying to see which is the best way i live in arizona and this heat is cooking me alive commuting home.......

There's a drain fitting on the bottom of the compressor. Drain out what you can, replace the drier and all o-rings at a minimum, put compatible R12/R134 oil back in whatever drained out and a little more for good measure, add a little dye, stick on the R134A fittings, then charge it up and turn it on. Check for leaks and proceed from there.
