Hey all

I have a roached out Black 89 turbo mirage, the previous owner had a 4g63t from a vr4 installed about 10 years ago. It has a stiff clutch, real deal E316g, Maf translator, cold air intake, and full 3 exhaust. The Mirage is decent but has rust on the roof, moldy interior, torn seats, etc. It seems to run well, and pulls hard. It will need a t belt, and maintenance, before getting put back into service.

Last week I bought a 91 Talon tsi, I have since pulled on the running gear. My plan is to start on the back half of the mirage and drop the turbo beam axle out and start fabing

The good new is I have a big shop, 2 post lift, air tools, welder, lathe, etc. I also work at a very large sheet metal shop, I have access to press brakes, metal big 240 volt welders and tigs etc

The bad news I can not find a good all inclusive swap thread, I want one with pictures, and great details so I can get this done in a timely manner, we have a last autocross October 1 and I would love to take Blackbird out there. I believe I have all the bits and pieces, just need a starting point.

I would recommend you look at jasons awd video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFZP2F6ERME on youtube that sort of helps give you an idea, but as far as threads, all that really comes to mind is aaronsbig16g awd swap thread

I'm sure there are many others on here hopefully someone else will chime in, It never hurts to be prepared for a major swap like this, so having a few build threads to look over is not a bad idea.

I second what Abe said Aaron Anderson's build is good.
Also please check this one. Its a different approach to the engine mounts. I feel it's one of the nicer ways of doing the mounts.
