Hello everyone,

I am currently trying to figure out what is causing both of my shoulder belts in my car to malfunction. When I got the car this summer the driver belt would come 5/10 times I drove the car and the passenger one worked every time. Now neither one comes anymore but they are constantly twitching when I drive the car. I had to pull the fuse from the no seatbelt alarm because it would act like it was having a seizure all the time.
Can I please get some assistance with this? The last thing I need is to get pulled over because my shoulder belt isn't on....

Thank you.

I would guess its the Seat belt ECU located under/in the center console. My first one had a burnt board, the second one I got from a forum member didn't work well either but I haven't had a chance to pull it apart yet. Currently my drivers side works well but the passenger doesn't work at all and the seat belt warning light is on on the dash.

Open the ECU seatbelt box, and review it for carnage. Capacitors just like every other component of this era, in Mitsubishi applications.

Best to disconnect now, before you have a potential electrical fire on your hands. You just don't know until you open the lid and move forward from there.
