Tech Question: I need help on finding a head for a 1.6l DOHC. What can I use? I have read something about hyunday heads but I dont think the made a 1.6l head. I dont have the money to upgrade to a 4g63 or to fully repair the 1.6l head that came of the 1991 mirage GL. The current head has few valve guides cracked, so fixing that head will be around $500. If there is anythink I can do for half the price I am in. Please comment on the options I available or you recommend. |

You can use a 4g67 head off of the early Hyundai Elantra, it has the same 43cc head but with the bigger 1g intake manifold ports. These are easy to obtain and the 1g DSM intake manifold is even easier to be had. |
