So I've got a 89 colt gt that's got an eeprom ecu that's socketed. Is there any reason I can't get a chip burned in this ecu for the injectors I want and a 2g maf and use it in my 90 gsx? As far as I know the two are pretty much the same. I'd be taking the stock ecu out and putting it in my colt as well.

If you get the EPROM burned with all the code for a '90 GSX then it will work fine. The 1.6L stuff is a little different with regards to the fuel and timing tables. The ECU will plug right in and everything and work with all the '90 sensors though.

Sounds good so I should just specify to the guy burning the chip that it's for a dsm and all should be fine? Probabky have him load the 2g timing map on it anyways.

Tell him you want '90 GSX code in the ECU and then other specific things you want.

I would load whatever timing map will work with your motor/cams/MAF sensor setup. Your chip guy should be very familiar with this ... if not .... consider other options.
