Have any of you guys tried the rod/piston drop in with standard size pistons?

I plan on being cheap

Attempting to just clean the bores and install standard size forged pistons..... Basically drop ins..

I would say that is dependent on the shape your bore is in. If its low miles and in perfect specs then it would probably work. but if its a worn 200k mile block then your are probably going to have some excessive piston to wall clearance. Plus your new pistons wont have have worn to an egg shape (which you dont want anyway) along with your bore over time so the the new pistons may not fit the shape of the bore very well.

That being said i dont have experience with how much the bores in 4g63 wear over time. It seems thay are pretty tough.
i think at a minimumyoull just have to mic the bores and see
