Ok, My aunt has a bone stock 90 Talon auto AWD 4g63t car. She is the original owner. Red with black top. Its got around 60k original miles. I drove this car when I was in high school a few times and always wanted to buy it. Well today I texted her and said she would sell it to me and to name a price. Kbb has the car at around 2100.00 with 100k miles. I didn't know the actual miles till later. Car has been in the garage in Maryland for the past 15 years but takes it out every now and then to drive it. I think it has the 13b turbo on it from what ive read. What can you do to this car performance wise for about 1000.00? Then, What about the tranny? What can the tranny handle on the street?

The turbo is a TD04 13G. Auto cars have smaller cams, smaller injectors (390cc) and a more restrictive exhaust manifold and 02 housing. A 16G upgrade would make a huge difference, along with everything else that would have to go along with that. The auto trannies can take a serious beating. You have to get the TCU re-programmed to really take advantage of it. A lot of the auto guys upgrade to a manual ECU, since the tranny is controlled by a separate ECU (TCU).

Intakehad two versions: 90-94 1G, 95+ were 2G style/EVO, cylinder heads had ports to match these changes. There is no difference because of transmission options, just injector and turbo sizing variation if auto (390CC with a 13g) or manual (450cc with a 14b for 1G,T25 for 2G).

I know this isn't what you're asking but if I could get my hands on a low mileage 1g awd I'd just leave it as is. There can't be many left like this. If you want to mod one, get one that someone has already modded. Or maybe do small things like a 14b/450's that can be reversed easily.

Intake manifold is identical.

Thank U guys for the info. She said she took delivery of the car in 89' and it was a 90'. I haven't made my way down to her house yet due to the weather in the evenings. When I get more info and pics I will post back here.
