ive been reading about upgrading the 14b to a 16g or 20g.... I have a mhi evo3 16g from back in 2003 when they first came out.. the center section has some chunks taken out of itso its no good. can I take the bigger (cold side) wheel and the bigger cold side housing and put them both onto the 14b center section? (i actually have it put together minus the locking nut) it looks like it will work.

so my next question is.. has anyone done this... are they the same except the housing and larger wheel? if it will work then I just need to find a left hand threaded nut cause the stock 14b one is right hand thread. and I lost the original 16g one :(... or can I still use the 14b shaft with exhaust wheel on it. (they measure out as the same wheel on the hot side)..

You may be able to put the 20g compressor wheel on the TD05 center section, but you're stuck with a TD05 turbine wheel, and that's assuming you can get all the rebuild parts and everything that you'd need. I would want a TD06 center section if I was running a 20g

TD05H turbine wheel are the same on 14B and 16G.
Both turbine housing are compatible.

But if you use an 16G compressor wheel on an 14B CHRA, you need to machine job the 14B CHRA to match the 68 mm 16G wheel.
If you need a better help, my advice is to contact Justin on tuner : http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/journa ... ce.479298/
He can provide also the left hand threaded needed

You'll need it all balanced too. Changing compressors, nuts, etc, it all has to be precision balanced. Remember, it spins at over 100,000rpm.
