The car has a 16g turbo on it and it looks like the turbo is only oil cooled. I can't seem to locate a water feed for the turbo from the 2g water pipe.

The 1g thermostat housing will not fit on the 2g head, the bolt patterns are different. The sensors on the 2g thermostat housing look the same as the 1g connectors and they have been left on. Once the engine is dropped in I may have to swap sensors. I won't know until next week. I am waiting on poly motor mounts. I'm going to have two coolant caps for awhile until I figure out a better solution because the water neck on the 1g is not a bolt up either.
The 1g stuff should bolt up to the 2g head. It may not have all the studs there, but it should be drilled and tapped for it.
See the images of my 2g head and 1g thermostat housing, took them just for you! :)

Wow, thanks for taking those. Why does it have to be 1g? The engine I have was a complete running engine in a 1g talon, with the 2g head and 2g thermostat/cooling assembly. I would rather not tap my block if I don't have to.

It should work either way, I just like the 1g parts, the water pipe seems easier to deal with imo.

Don't get me wrong, your install looks clean. I just don't trust myself using my harbor freight taps ha ha ha.

You just need a 4g61 upper thermostat housing if you're looking to delete the cap.

This arrived today:

http://www.dsmchips.com/1990ecu.php

I switched pins 6 and 14

Then sautered, shrink wrapped, and taped according to the directions provided. I am going to have to swap ecu cases to mount the 4g63 ecu in the stock 4g61 location.

My motor mounts will arrive on Friday. Am getting close to bolting up tranny and dropping her in!

Shit. Prothane motor mounts arrived today. I ordered the 1g fwd dsm kit and only one of the mounts are right. Gonna have to go back. I checked the archives for part numbers for a factory turbo car and couldn't find part numbers. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I am also interested on clear information for poly motor mounts. Its been on my mind for a while now as something I would like to do on the sloppy ole colt but have not done the research or posted up the question myself. Seems that only a couple of the dsm ones work not all 4?

from what I gathered in the past..and i still use the same ones to date.. i used 1 13-506 and 3 13-501s.

I think either the rear or front u leave the metal ring from the original mount in.. u just burn and clean out the rubber part.. (its been a few years so I dont remember exactly)

I mounted the 4g63t into the mirage today! I am using a 1g fuel rail on a 2g head and the line that goes from the fuel filter to fuel rail is too short. Anybody have a solution for this? Is the 1g line longer? Its too short by about an inch even when moving the filter all the way up in the bracket.

on mine I just cut both fittings as close to the hose as I could so I had as much metal as possible.. then put a fuel line and hose clamps on it..
