ColtiXim, thanks for the reply!
FWIW, This is not for my car, it's for the
nemisis swap that's in Malta.
(Tim came over to the Galantvr4.org board to ask for assistance / input on the interchange and I followed the conundrum over to this board.)
As near as I can tell, the airflow meter will need to interface with an early jdm vr4 wiring harness / ecu.
I am a little curious about the "doppleganger" green/yellow wires used in the maf plug.
I can see how the ecu would be confused by the wrong signal input if those wires were swapped during harness repairs/ work.
... sure would like to kick the beancounter that thought it would be okay to use green/yellow wire throughout the engine harness
squarely in the sack!
89Mirageman, my experience has been that the baro side doesn't fail often, but when it does, it fails open and the ecu will use a "default" (which I *believe to be sea level readings.) In the case of a car
at sea level, it's not such a big problem, but up here at 9200ft in Colorado, it'll result in a total pooch and some toasty egt's, as the timing will be not be advanced and the fuel trimmed back to compensate for the "thinner" air.
