So, I'm an idiot. I was swapping wheels and jacked it up under the rear lateral rod. I was on the phone with my brother and wasn't paying attention...I was thinking it was the rear subframe....

Clearly I need to replace this. I'm assuming it isn't possible to 'bang' it back into shape? I was planning on getting an alignment soon anyways, but now I def. have to! I'm assuming the only reasonable option is to find a used one, install, and align?

Here is a chart: http://pages.videotron.com/radicalc/Ima ... e/rear.JPG

thanks ya'll :/

That's just a bar to help align the rear end. It's slang name is panhard bar.
If you could bend it back into shape, that's fine IMO. You'd need to make sure it's exactly the same length as stock though, or your rear suspension could be offside a bit. Lots of guys make adjustable ones out of threaded tube and spherical ends.

Well, hopefully that all means it isn't terribly hard to find a new one...Yeah, when I lowered my car it obvious that the camber is way off now....any idea if other similar cars have bolt in ones, or where I can find a new/used one at a reasonable price? thanks !!!

always jack from the side of the car. it eliminates this from happening.

but yeah u can bend it back and have someone weld a small piece of flat metal on it to reinforce it till u can replace it. but will definitely need a alignment.

Any idea who can bend the thing back? I'm doubtful a regulator shop can do this, or am I wrong? Would they have to remove the bar?

thanks!

Nick, sent you a pm about a 1g fwd dsm panhard bar that I'm pretty sure I still have somewhere. Car looks awesome BTW. Those wheels should have came on the turbo cars.
