Hey team, will a 4G63-t header fit an N/A 4G61 block?

Yes, but with a twist.

When I installed a 4g63 motor into my Colt, the exhaust system was already installed (2.5") and was close to the longitudinal engine bay cross member. The extra deck height pulled the exhaust up higher, by the exact amount the deck height is taller versus the 4g61 block - the only external difference between the two, minus the water and lower timing covers.

So, it bolts up, but now your header if already installed at a certain angle, will sit lower!

I figure you are looking for compatible parts, and likely have none of this installed currently, so it's not likely to be an issue. Someone out there might want to know this.

I think the PO meant to ask if a 4G63 exhaust manifold will work on the 4G61. Terminology is slightly different between turbo engine and the other kinds. Usually "header(s)" refers to a car NOT using a turbo charger.

Anyway, YES a 4G63T exhaust manifold works wonderfully on a 4G61(T). If you are looking to add a turbo to your 4G61 a 2G exhaust manifold with some port work is a great way to go.

Again, I suggest checking out this build thread as there is a lot of good information that pertains to your project: viewtopic.php?f=64&t=34323
