Hey, ive recently wanted to start replacing the original air intake system on the 4g61t,
Problem ive noticed the air flow sensors are actually in the air filter box, can these be moved ?

I was thinking of somehow fabricating it into a piece of pipe but am unsure if it will work correclty as ive heard some people say you need to keep it in that original air box and attach the piping to the end of that box to the pod filter, but that defeats the purpose for me as i was going to chop a hole in the bonnet and put a scoop on it to redirect air directly onto the pod rather than running more piping back through the side panel and having the pod there.

After all im looking for a cold air induction not just a pod roar.

If anyone has come across a solution without replacing the ecu to a haltech or something like that please let me know in here im sure a lot of people are probably wondering how to do this.

Thanks

To get cold air, you can:

Keep the factory air can setup, it draws cold air from the fenderwell.

Use various adapters to make a "cold air" setup that will draw hot engine air into the engine.

Keep the factory air can setup, flatten the top of the dome a little, cut a hole into it, get thick foam to seal it to the hood, cut hole in hood, add hood scoop.

Mighty car mods has proved that the stock air intake will make the same level gains as a cold air or podfilter intake - Save your cash homie
