My current setup is a C53a AC compressor and bracket transferred to a 91 4g63t motor.

My R12 charge is working properly, and I want to keep it that way.

I have the Cyclone intake manifold, with Cyclone rear bracket to the block.

Can I keep the AC compressor and will it fit un-modded?

Do I need to grind like I've read on other sites where DSM/VR4 lines/compressor get in the way ?

Who has tried this ?

I'm running one on my car, but with a COP set up, I think it will work no issues.

My biggest concern was having to grind something for clearance. Just didn't want it to be the lines or compressor housing.

Coil pack being placed in another location, not a big deal. That was an issue that Jerry/ aka lancerman posted about years ago, for Cyclone installs. But his car is the 93+ bodystyle and related AC components.

Well, may have to pull the manifold, brackets, vacuum diaphragms, etc off the shelf after all. Bought my cylinder head to intake gasket already.
Have one year till emissions testing again, so EGR will get deleted for the time being.

Maybe ask on GSR/Cyborg board, more chance to find the same setup and answer ...

What are you tuning with? I used the Nitrous controls in ECM Link that use the stock EGR wires... just plug in the solenoid, and hook up your lines, tell it what RPM and BAM! works like a champ :)

I'll be revising his current chip with some code to use one of the solenoid outputs as an RPM/Load trigger :).

Sweet. It's going to work great. I love mine. Made the car fun to drive again. The gvr4 uses the same compressor and brackets as the c53a.

Update to this thread is that you need to grind the Cyclone brace bracket just a little bit on the folded portion where it will hit the USDM AC compressor.

Check out my members thread for pics of that.
