Well ive just upgraded the turbo on my 89 colt gt to a pte5557 with an FP manifold. I CAN fit the stock radiator in with about 1 inch of clearance between the wg actuator and the radiator core itself. Ive got a solid front motor mount to keep things planted so all is good there.

However the problem im running into as you can all guess is the radiator fan situation. Ive still got A/C on the car and would like to keep it. Just curious if you guys think it'll be possible to use the stock radiator with two 11 inch pushers on the front of the ac condenser sealed to the radiator with some sort of foam or weatherstripping of some sort to make it as efficient as possible.

I Figure i can ditch the wiring for the ac fan and just hotwire both pushers to be on constantly with the key on, and this doubles for cooling the condenser for the a/c. Another thing to note is that there is a FMIC on the car...

Here is what i was looking at for two pusher fans. These seem to be the largest i can go with based on the measurements ive taken

http://www.the-fan-man.com/shop/size-pu ... l?cPath=33

Both are spal fans that push 970cfm supposedly which isnt bad. 1940 cfm total but im sure it'll be less than that. more like 1500-1600 total all said and done probably..

Any suggestions? Id like to do this once and right so i dont have to re-visit the issue.

Edit: Another thing to add... gets to about 105-108 here in the summer in texas where im at so a/c is a must and it'll be for sure...

Looks like a good plan to me.

I have a civic half size rad. with a ebay fan wired for push and it holds temps fine, I recommend having at least 1 of them wired to a switch though, you might get some over cooling if you have both on all the time.

I could only fit two 10" fans in front of my condenser when I tried that, and I've never been too impressed with the performance of pusher fans in general.
When I received my new Koyorad and realized it was not going to leave room for my stock fans the way it's stock counterpart did, I decided to make my own shroud. I Had a two speed fan out of a Nissan laying around the shop, and some super thin aluminum diamond plate from a KZ camper that I repaired a few months ago. I ducted the radiator to a single puller fan. It seems to do the job.

What turbo do you have on the car and how large is that puller fan?? My main problem is that ive got room height wise for a large fan but not width wise. Looks like im limited to a 10 inch width fan as a puller on the passenger side due to the wg actuator which i have already clocked slightly and tweaked along with moving the compressor cover a bit so that it wouldnt point directly into the motor mount.

My turbo is an EIII16g, and that fan is around 12" if I remember correctly. I could be wrong on the diameter, but it is the same height as the radiator core.

The radiator itself was originally designed for a 93 Accord.

I think I have two 10" fans. Pusher in front of condenser on driver side and puller behind radiator on pass side. Turbo radiator, no issues with overheating.

hmm...

Well i think ill try the two 10-11 inch pushers up front first and if this doesnt work ill just snag a puller for the backside on the passenger side (10" fan)

This is what I've done with some foam tape. It works ok with two 9" pusher wired together. I do not get the heat like you do in Texas. I have not tried the a/c yet either.

I run a single 12" 1200cfm fan wired to key-on with a 160* t-stat, never had an overheating issue, always between 180-200*.

So what fans worked for you? I'm about to add A/C back to my car and at the same time would like to get rid of the bulky stock turbo radiator fan.
