Im using head studs in my motor right now...I got the ARP stud p/n 207-4701. They are about $30 more expensive than the regular head stud kit from them (-4201). The kit is a 89-94 4G63 12mm uncut head. If you compare the regular ARP stud kit to the uncut one, it not only has a little more threading, but the threads are not cut into the stud..they are rolled, meaning they are stronger (they dont make the stud, and then cut material out to make the thread). I consulted Bill over at Holeshot about it, and he said the headstuds were kinda overkill, but the block could hold 40+lbs of boost if needed (i only found out about it after i purchased the kit). Cant complain, and I know the stock bolts will hold down up to 20psi, but Im anal retentive about my motor...I love new stuff neways hehe. |
