I'm not sure how to put this in words but I've recently rebuild a forged motor. It idles pretty good and drives fine. Except at 3000-4000rpm it stutter and hesitates - but does not want to rev past those rev range.

I have ecmlink it reads knocks and i've tried to decrease/increase timing value in the direct access but no change. Its as if it hits rev limiter. The turbo spools fine as you can feel but then hesitates.

I'm still getting my head around ecmlink values and settings. I don't think its a ecmlink problem?

I know this is stupid, and it probably isn't that but.. how high did you put your rev limit in ecmlink?
Maybe by mistake you put it to 4000 and forgot to lift it?

Not a bad idea and a good way to start simple. When I first got dsmlink a while back I mistakenly set my rev limit thinking it was launch limit as they are right next to each other iirc.

Does it hesitate even while slowly cruising past 4k?

^^^ We are thinking boost leak if not rev limit as stated above. As asked above, if you can get to rev without boosting and past the hiccup point, that would be good. Boost leak check if it has not been done with this new build.

Are the plugs and wires new? What coil setup are you using?

Your best bet with ECMLink is to follow Dorris' guides for dialing in the initial setup and make sure everything is right. Then worry about WOT tuning.

It would be cool if we could post logs on the site. But I agree, I would look at a log if you have one too. PM for my email address if you are interested.

A log can't be posted to the site. He would have to post a log on the ECMLink forums and post up a URL link or email each of us the file.

hahah yea I have limiter set to 8000rpm

Highest I can rev it is to 4k I think only slowly building it through.

Im pretty sure I don't have a boost leak. I've run over the car over again and again, eliminating small vacuum hoses. Even so the car wouldn't idle so well with a leak.

I'm on the dsmlink forum (nonickname), It takes a while to get a reply if not getting one.

Im happy to email an idle log and WOT log of the issue.

Is your wideband correct? I'm going to look over your settings, but at first glance, I can tell you that 7.3:1 AFR is way too rich, and you need to go change your oil now.

I would start with a boost leak test, because your estimated AFR is nowhere near your wideband AFR.

My second clue is the fact that you said it doesn't boost, but your estimated boost is reading 13psi.

Those two things say to me, "Large amouts of metered air are eacaping from the intake tract".

Another thing that I would do, is try the reccommended starting point for your size injectors. (Copied from ECMling wiki):
http://www.ecmtuning.com/wiki/baseinjectordata
"Nippon Denso (Evo VIII) 560cc /Global -18/ Deadtime 0/ Has lower deadtime than OEM 1g/2g injectors!"

Yes, your injectors are setup incorrectly... very incorrectly. Like stated above they should be around -18 for global and 0 for deadtime.

Are you using the stock o2 sensor or no? Cause you have it setup for narrowband simulation, just wanted to double check that you meant to do that.

Change the injector settings and then see how it runs, should be a ton better. Also change your plugs and oil like Coltsfan said.

I noticed that, and forgot to mention it. Good call.
