I searched for a bit and did not find what I was looking for. What is the closer to drop in of the two 255 walbro fuel pumps in a CSM? The GSS 342 or GSS 342? The outlet/inlet on the same side or opposite?

Not sure about the part # but I got the one made for a 1g fwd dsm and it dropped right in.

That is the GSS 342. Just for future reference for folks looking for the answer.

I have a shot at picking up a 341 from a friend. It is the same as the 1G AWD. While the inlet/outlet are different, I am going to run with it and make it work for the price. Thanks for the answer man.

I don't blame you for trying to save a few bucks, shouldn't be too hard to mod it to fit.

I need to buy a fuel pump and was considering either a Walbro 255 or a Denso 1020; the Denso 1020 because they are quiet and reliable or the Walbro because it is cheaper.
How loud are they? I'm not familiar with how noisy the Walbro is though I've heard that they can whine.

It depends. Some are some are not. This one we just did is super quiet. I did one on a covertible before and it was ridiculous.

The 190 I put in my other black colt whined a little.

I did a 255HP and reused the factory pump's rubber isolators. I bent the cage a little and added a piece of rubber for even more isolation and a snug fit. Mine is nothing more than a low hum at best, can't hear it at all while driving.
