I have searched all the 1565546464564 axle threads and haven't seen a similar problem. I just got my 4g63 in my 92 colt operational but I have a very bad vibration when I am driving. What I have found is that the pass. side axle seems like it is too long, It is the stock colt axle with a fwd dsm trans. When I jack the front end up and spin the pass side wheel, it moves the motor over in 1 spot, as if the axle is too long. It almost seems like the motor is just sitting too far to the right side, but I am not sure. Anyone have any ideas?

if it was too long you wouldnt be able to put both bolts in the strut... is it a known good axle? it could just be bad and vibrating?

yes it is a good axle, the top bolts were a bitch to get in, that was my first tip off, but like I said, I think it might be a motor position problem. And a bad axle that vibrates wouldn't move the motor to the left a good distance when it rotates.

Is it a stock 1.5L axle? There's a reason why you're supposed to use turbo mirage axles.

that was from about 5 years ago.. I think he got lucky on his sedan with the 1.5 axles.... every post I have read says to use the 1.6 turbo axles...unless u swap out the front end and run dsm axles

You need 1.6L turbo axles or either do the expo knuckles and use 1g dsm axles. The inner stub on the 1.5L axles are shorter and do not snap into the diff like they should.

When I got the 91 Colt otg with the 4G61T swap with KM210, I tossed in the stock 1.5l auto axles for the time being as I needed to replace a boot on my 1.6 axles, they've been in there ever since :o that was 8000+ km's ago.

There are more examples of them not working than the very rare examples of them working. The reply that you mentioned is from the same guy who went to turbo mirage axles shortly after that post. The simple facts are that yes, they might kinda sorta work but there will be issues with binding and that they just aren't thick enough once you start making power.

92colt200e had automatic equipped axles, so they are a different length from what I remember.

CSM axles are like a box of chocolates...

I've had a passenger side axle that was too long before too; it made a bunch of vibration and bottoming out noise on high G left turns, and when the car was on the lift the inner CV bottomed out in it's cup.

use 92-95 hyundai elantra axles. they have same part # as csm axles and are right every time. for 1.6 or 1.8L of course.

i won't argue there, as of now I've just been rockng wastegate boost and using it as a commuter so luckily I'm not worried about that yet.

Mine are indeed auto axles, I'm not sure if there is a difference or not, but they seem to work BK. I will be swapping to my 1.6 axles eventually.

Well I have a friend locally with a swapped colt and was told he used the 1.5 axles, and I read a few cases that people used them, so I figured I was fine. But I'll get different ones since I am obviously not fine with them. When you say the elantra ones are the same does that mean same as the original turbo models? And anyone know a good place to order them?

Elantra axles are not the same as turbo colt axles, also they were available in auto or manual so I'm not sure which ones you need. Either way I'm pretty sure they have the same short inner stub that isn't long enough for the circlip to snap into the diff like it should. The splines are the same and it will fit it just won't click like its supposed to when you install them.
