Tomorrow I'm picking up a 91 2.0t engine, harness and ecu to swap in my 89 mirage turbo. Getting a sweet deal that I can't turn down $200 for everything, the guy lost his job and really needs the money to support his family. I searched and had no luck. What all am I going to need to do to make this work and as pain free as possible? Any advie links or write ups will be a huge help. I'm itching to get this done it was my best friends dream to do this and before he past away he gave me the car with the promise I would do the swap and show these little honda pukes in town what's up. Please help me carry out my friends final wish. This means a lot to me and I don't want to cut any corners I'm going all out on this motor just need to know everything.
Thanks,
Josh

Easiest way to wire is pull the thermostat housing and TB off your 4g61t and put them on the new 4g63t. Then your wiring should be plug and play if its an original turbo car. Then getting a pulse translator for your tach and find an easy way to swap coils and you're set and ready. Have any other questions feel free to PM your phone number and we'll get this worked out for your lost friend in a weekend.

then u didnt search very hard.. there are tons of swap info on this site.. most (that I use) are in the archive sections.

and like john said.. if it is a original 4g61 turbo car use the cas..tb and coilpack from the 61.. just swap out the ecu's (u have to swap out the 2 pins tho cause the 61 uses the 90 ecu setup) everything else should swap right over.. axles.. mounts and all...

im going thru the same thing right now on 1 im building for a friend.. and it seems so easy compared to when I did mine.. mine was orig a 1.5 so had to source all the parts to make it work. and wire everything.
just take your time and it should all fall into place.

Steve

John,

He can use the entire coil pack assembly from his 89 turbo mirage motor

To make it easier, your going to need a 90 DSM Throttle body, you can use the 1.6 one, but its going to choke your intake down a bit. Also don't forget that with the 90 TB you need to use the fuel rail for a 90 (or turbo Mirage) as well.

Use the 89 4g61t fuel rail, trust me. 8)
Reuse as many 89 parts as you can, with the 90 TB as they mentioned earlier, then everything will work properly and fit properly.

How's the progress going? I'm in the middle of doing my swap into the mirage right now so everythings fresh for me at the moment if you need any pointers.

NO the mounts are not the same, just use the 4g61t mounts. Swap those over to the 4g63t and install.
