Ok guys, after replacing my fuel filter in my car, when I started the car I realized that vacuum is real low now, at a solid 7 instead of the 14 or so it used to be at.. I got some carb cleaner and sprayed all the vac lines but still no change. Wtf?

My car is boosted with 2.5 exhaust, 14b, tial wastegate. When driving the car, my vac/boost gauge will go up when the pressing the accelerator but will go straight back down to a rock solid 7 inHg.

Someone please help! I just tuned up my car with new plugs/wires, a new valve cover gasket and new fuel filter. Why the f*** is my vacuum so low and my idle sucks because of it? Other than that though the car drives fine?

Boost leak test time.

My guess is its pretty big and you won't need to use soapy water or flour like I did :P

My last leak experience was hard to track down, was a bad EGR valve leaking around the top seal itself, not from the lines or gasket. Deleted it, problem solved.

I need to get a BLT or fab one up or something... a shop wanted 110 or so to do a boost leak test for me.... funds are low suffice to say lol.

Home hardware store - plumbing rubber end cap sized to fit your turbo intake side. Drill hole in center and add tire valve. Install metered (READ max 15-20 PSI) air with chuck and pressurize the system. That is your $100 test, for less than $5. Oh, you can seal the tire valve with rtv or silicone sealant.

So looks like the problem was my Autometer boost/vacuum gauge is bad, still would like to do a BLT however, perhaps even a compression tester as well.
