Got 2 sets of pads today and they were both wrong. The first set was #299 from autozone and the second was 144's. One rockauto it looks as if the number is 328's. Can anyone verify this. I had them order the 328's and they will be tomm but really hope they are the right pair.

i believe the 328's are what was used it originally. it crosses to a 87 cordia/tredia/galant. i never put em in, but i remember something to that effect when my brother put the car together.

Ok, got the new 328 brake pads in this morning and get the new knuckles, and rotors on. I go to put the caliper brakets and pads on and im running into a fitament issue with the new pads. Looks as if the inside pad(with built in shim and wear indicator) it too big. Is the outside pad and inside pads supposed to be the same? The pad with the single ear with fit on the outside and the inside. The one with the double ears will fit on the outside only, but inside curve of the pad rubs the rotor face where is transitions from brake surface to rotor face. Also, I have caliper marked #3 and caliper bracket marked 11 t on the passenger side. Looks as if I have 2 of the wrong pads. All the pics I see on the net have all 4 with just the single ear.

Thanks,

1 complete side

Outer passenger: Fits fine

Passenger inner pad makes contact with caliper braket nearest cv joint

This pad works on either side with a little play on inside

This pad fits on outside but pad material makes contact with rotor

Ok just got the right pads..The number is 328. Now the pads are in the caliper brackets witht the right clips and I cant get the caliper over the new pads. The piston was pushed all the way in with a c clamp and even took off ships off the back of the pad and they seem to me 1 mm too thick still between the two. And also I have a fitament issue between the cv shafts and spindles. They seem now to want to seat all the way in, plus the spindle and huble has slop if I undo the spindle nut.. What a fruit and banana nightmare.

Now the seal is fuked up, looks as if it folded in on its self when I tightened the axle nut down.
Does everything look right with the rear of the spindle and hub..? Dayo, this is the spindle you sent me.

I think you need the Beck Arnley seal #0522888, but unfortunately I can't find the dimensions of it online. It looks like this:

National/Timken 474134 should fit too, but somehow it looks like the bore diameter is too small.

An auto replacement axle for a 91 eagle summit into a 1.5 mitsu knuckle with a timken#474134 wheel seal. Takes 2 inner and outer

it looks as if I have the thicker csm vented rotors and there must be a pad that is thinner in the friction material area. All csm that i have seen with the 1.6's uses the mkd 328 brake pads. Crackerman suggest using a sander or the like to grind off some of the material and since they are lifetime pads, seems like an easy way out. But still would like to know the part number for the correct pads.

It may be possible that a different brand would just be thinner right out of the box. Are you sure the calipers aren't to blame?

I talked to Crackerman and he said that they are factory Gt calipers and brackets but previous owner got replacement rotors for the car. He is not sure what they were for.

That's a national seal in your photos, not a timken.

I need to gain the thickness of a nickel on each side to barely get them on.
