I'm in a serious bind. I need an EPROM for a stock 1989 Plymouth Colt GT Turbo. Mine has two pins broken off of it. I don't need a whole ecu, just the EPROM. Anyone point me in the right direction??? |

try soldering a lead from another component like a capacitor or resistor. I have done it before(never with an ecu, but the process should go like this: 1. put eeprom on in correct direction. 2. cut a lead off a "traditional" led,diode, capacitor or resistor. 3. put lead in missing spot, and cut to size. 4. solder to chip. This is a temporary fix, because if you remove the chip again, obviously its going to break. but as long as you don't move it, it should work a treat. |
