The PO of my swapped Colt made his own upper brackets,from the looks of it. Works great,sits a bit lower than stock I believe. I don't think anything was done to the lower mounts.

Does anyone know if the 1G rad will bolt in a colt GT??? It looks pretty close, I have the DSM style t-stat housing already, that's about all I can see that's really different.. Any help appreciated, I blew my rad on the way home from work and I need to get it fixed for monday at the latest, Thanks, |

From what I can remember, the DSM radiator is a bit shorted, but could be made work by moving the lower radiator mounts up and only using 1 bolt to hold them on the bottom. However doing that causes the radiator to sit higher and filling it using the DSM thermostat housing doesn't get the system fully topped off. You can park the car downhill and it's supposed to help with this. I personally have NOT done this, but if I recall correctly this was the general info of when I researched it. |

correct I run the 1g rad with the 2 mounts raised up only using 1 bolt. I have been running it over 2 years here in AZ with 0 problems...when u fill it up..run the car to operating temp.. let it cool down..top it off..squeeze the lower hose SLOWLY a few times to burp out the air... top it off again and make sure the overflow bottle is about half full no more.. and you should be set to go. Sweet, that should make it easier to find a rad on the the weekend when almost everything is closed. So do I just have to un bolt the lower mounts and move them, re-install??? Or is some modification required?? Thanks guys, |

correct also... the 1g dsm rad is not as tall as the stock csm one.. I didnt have access to metal to make a new upper mount. so I ended up just raising the lower ones.(you unbolt both bolts..move them up and only replace 1 bolt).or you can do like in the pic.. mount the rad and make some kind of upper mount to hold it in place.. I wish I had a pic of mine.. the stock upper mounts I had to flatten out with a big hammer.. so if u can get some metal. it might be easier to make the new top mounts.  Steve |

Yeah, it worked fine, just moved the lower mounts up. I'm going to make new mounts for the top later so the rad sits lower and I can fill it up all the way, but It'll get me to work for now. Thanks for the help and info guys! |

I prefer to run a Scirroco rad instead. It fits under the rad support and gives more room for the turbo. |

I had to run a scirrocoococ/jetta rad because of the hx40 I have on my car.. was the only way to get everything to fit. Fits snugly under the core support, running my fan as a pusher now. Took a couple weeks to get all the parts necessary to make that work |
