Somewhere in this forum was a topic about putting a 14b turbo on a 4g61t which list the parts needed to make it work.

I spent nearly 1 hour searching (i.e. 14b turbo, 14b turbo upgrade parts needed and other variation of keywords) for this topic and could not find it.

Someone please help me find this topic. Thanks.

14b turbo
1G/2G 02 housing ported or Evo3 <-requires changing most otherwise bolt on downpipes due to angle
1G/2G/Evo3 exhaust manifold
matching turbo to exhaust manifold gasket
450cc 1G/2G DSM injectors or larger depending upon boost intended
Walbro 190/255 LPH fuel pump
fuel pump rewire
1G ECU with Eprom
2G MAS
1G cams or something more aggressive like 264/264, 264/272
Fuel controller like SAFCII
Exhaust upgrade to 2.5"
Boost controller

The list goes on, depends upon your goals.

I thought you could get away with running just a 1G MAF and 450 injectors on a 61 ECU for supporting mods?

I ran a 14b on my 89 turbo car everything was stock it ran fine. I ran the 1g manifold and had to switch out all the coolant lines and oils line and make the intercooler pipes fit.

Thanks for all the replies.

My mirage is going to be a daily driven car ( 80 miles/day commute). I want this to be as reliable as possible.

I already have the 2G Manifold, 14b Turbo (but thinking of going with 16g), Oil return line.

Here's my shopping list:

1G Oil Feed line, Coolant Feed and return lines.
1G Oil feed line crush washers
1G Coolant Feed and return lines crush washers
1G Oil Return gaskets
1G Fuel Injectors
1G ECU

I remember reading a thread about the 14B into on 4g61 with a list of parts needed including the part numbers. I'm still looking for that thread.

Also, I'm really considering buying a 16g and FMIC. I've seen these sold on ebay as a Package. If anyone know a reputable Ebay store that sells the items above, please post up.

Thanks

Do NOT buy a "16g" off of ebay. If it says "turbo" or "16g" on the turbo itself, it's a chinese knockoff, aka, fake. Some of them have been found to be glued together. Make sure it has the actual mitsubishi part number on it before you buy it.

I'll take that as a compliment. Resources in this forum helped me a lot so the least I can do is make it easier for the next person that might be doing a 14b swap on a 4g61.

There are so many eBay vendors and I know I can easily buy something that may not last. I decided to just stay with the 14b, 1G MAF, 1G Injectors, a Walbro 255 Fuel pump and 1G side mount IC.

If you get the 255 pump, I strongly suggest getting an afpr to regulate it. You can skimp by on the stock regulator with a 190 though.
