What model Quaife is for the KM210?
I did a search and found many threads mentioning a Quaife being used with a KM210 but not the part number/model of the Quaife.
I do not know if the KM210 and 1g FWD would use the same part, also the Quaife site only went back to 92 while the KM210is a 89, if that matters.
So what part number has been used?
Thanks,
Joe

It should be the same part as a FWD DSM, I'm running a FWD DSM diff in my KM210, just had to swap the ring gear.

The KM210 and early F5M33 diffs should be exactly the same thing. The 93+ F5M33 diff has larger splines though.

Honestly for the money the Phantom Grip conversion works pretty well.

I have heard that the Quaife is better for autocross, turns and such. I will be using this to get to work and not as a weekend racer at the track.
I only came across one part number though QDH7B, and I see that an OEM speed indicator is needed, MD717879.

You're right and those are the correct numbers. Only thing is justifying spending half of what your car is worth so you can try to beat your best time to the office. Not worth it in my opinion. Unless you're going to track it at some level or you have loads of cash to burn I'd say leave it open or get a Phantom Grip.

I have one in my KM210. Got it from RRE years ago.
Yes you need the speedo gear, a torch, and a brass hammer to install it.
Diff bearings and shims too.

I always thought the KM210 model diff was different than the F5M33.
There ya go, consistently inconsistent info. I'd honestly call RRE and ask.
They can answer questions if you're spending $1100 on a part.

heres something of value, some pictures from when I installed it...

maybe you can make heads or tails of what PN differential it is?

Good luck, I really like mine. Sure, its not an AWD conversion.
But beats the living hell out of the phantom grip side-gear-preloader thinger I replaced it with.

I'm sorry that i'm posting in this old topic but its the only one i found when searced.

I have a f5m33/KM215 from eclipse trubo (1g).

I'm looking for LSD for my transmission.

I came accross these two LSDs on ebay.. My question is.. Will it fit my trany?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mitsubishi-Ecli ... 3a718da1b4

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Quaife-Limited- ... 3cbcda3deb

I see part number is QDH7B like mentioned in this topic.
Please help.

Yes, either of those would work in a Eclipse FWD transmission, as long as it's the early style, up to 1992. 93-94 had different splines on the axles.

I'm sorry but I'm totally confused right now

When i posted here i sent mail to quaife too.
Here is the answer:

"Hello Bruno,

Thank you very much for your enquiry, unfortunately this differential will not fit the turbo version due to Mitsubishi increasing the size of their diff to compensate for the additional power being put through the engine. If you would like us to manufacture a differential for your vehicle we would need a minimum batch order of 10 differentials and a sample diff sent in. Is this something that would interest you?
If I can be of any assistance in the future please don't hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Adrian Naish"

So the diff is larger then this one?

But then again.. I found this:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drivetr ... -90-a.html

So AWD should work in FWD..?
Whaayoooo I'm getting a headache...

Post subject:  Re: Quaife for KM210

I asked:
"One more thing.

http://www.quaife.co.uk/shop/products/qdh7b

Here is says
Mitsubishi Eclipse 2WD Turbo Quaife ATB Helical LSD differential
Your answer was "will not fit the turbo version ".
Why does it say 2WD Turbo then?"

I got reply:

"Thank you for pointing this out, I do not know why it says ‘2WD Turbo’ on the website, in my catalogue it states ‘non turbo’ and on my database it says neither! I apologise if I got this incorrect, I have attached the dimensional drawing of the diff to this email, so you can measure this against your diff to see if it will fit. The other diffs we make for the Eclipse are the QDH8B (AWD front diff), QDH9B (AWD centre diff) and the QDF3I (2WD ‘non-turbo’ T350 trans). I also include an attachment with the dimensions for the QDH8B which you suggested might fit your vehicle.

I hope this information helps, if you could confirm whether the QDH7B fits your vehicle or not that would be very helpful."

So basically i have to take of my trans and get the diff out and measure it...

Erm... does anybody have 90' fwd diff laying around?

Here is a spec for
QDH7B (FWD)

Post subject:  Re: Quaife for KM210

I've always been under the impression that all the FWD diffs were interchangeable between FWD DSM, AWD DSM, and the KM210 trannies. This is how Road Race Engineering sells them on their website, and I know people on here have used a Quaife LSD for a FWD DSM in a KM210 trans.
